1. Meant to say, I put a new set of strings on it on weds night so I won't be supplying a new set now. It has a full, new set on it.
2. So, apologies for the delay with the recordings, But here are some little demos. Note, theyre recorded just with an SM58! Enjoy. http://m.soundcloud.com/owainxerath
3. I am a brass player and have been for 19 years. The comment above is more than a bit vague and not so well informed in my opinion. Getting a sound out of something is one thing, playing something well is another - I can get a noise out of a set of bagpipes - I'd never try and play them at a wedding though - they'd think it was part of a bad comedy routine!! With no prior brass playing experience, with regular lessons (at least an hour per week, plus home practice of a few hours per week), depending on the difficulty of what you're wanting to play, you could 'get by' with a few pieces. I've noticed that you're in Sheffield so you shouldn't have any trouble in finding a decent brass teacher there - Yorkshire is deep brass band country after all. Try www.themouthpiece.com - a well used UK based brass band forum......... Buy an 'Arban' brass palyers method book........ Are you talking solo or with a band. One of the main issues will be if you're planning on playing along with a band is that your embouchure won't be very well developed after a year - you may well have real tuning and intonation problems (along with tone too probably) throughout your range, which, when heard in isolation may not be so bad, but heard in the context on an 'in tune' ensemble, may sound pretty rough. Saxophone isn't brass, it's woodwind and completely different to play than a brass instrument. Woodwind mouthpieces have a reed that goes in your mouth. Brass mouthpieces are just a round sort of funnel that you put our mouth in and 'buzz' with your lips, or blow a raspberry - a lot more to it than that, but it's the basic principle. let me know if you need anymore advice. Cheers.
4. I'm going to record some bits and pieces on it this week and post them on here so you can hear what it sounds like recorded.
5. Sale only..........[s] reduced from £300 to £280..........[/s] Take it off me for £250! I'm going to be in Leeds Thurs 28th March 2013 pm at Headingly Stadium. Can bring guitar with me...... I have for sale my MINT condition Freshman Apollo 2 0 Acoustic guitar For those of you not familiar with the brand, see here - http://www.freshmang...rs.net/reviews/ It is an Apollo 2 0 which has a slightly smaller, almost 'folk' style body, though the adverts call it a 'Grand Auditorium Acoustic'. It is a lovely looking, if a little 'less is more' looks wise - which I like. Sounds wise, it's very detailed with decent volume. I don't know what it records like but it is really nice to play and a couple of friends (serious acoustic players - one who swears by old Martins and another who has a couple of Larrive's) were very impressed with its sound and overall build quality and finish etc and were both under the impression that it was a £700 / £800 guitar, not something at around half the price. I bought it around 2 years ago brand new with the intention of using it at home for writing and recording purposes. As is usual, things haven't quite gone to plan and my 'music' room is still nowhere near completion - due to a baby, work, a busy band, house refurb etc etc, the guitar hasn't been played in at least 12 months, and hardly before that to be honest! It is really in MINT condition, without a mark (none that I could find) on it. So it's like brand new condition, but with a decent gig bag. It would seem that it's now a discontinued model but I've found a few shops selling it on line for anywhere between £390 and £360 http://www.elmusic.c...man/APOLLO_2_O/ http://www.guitargui...8#ProductDetail I'd really like a cash sale as I'm in the market for a Barefaced S12T but need to raise some cash towards it - I'll also include the unmarked, quality, padded gig bag I bought with it at the time. The guitar and gig bag literally haven't left the house since purchasing and having gone into the room tonight, I saw it sat there and thought it's such a waste not being used properly. You'll notice in the pics that it only has 5 strings - typically, I broke one tonight before I took the pics - I'll throw in a new set of strings with the price!! I'm looking for [s]£300[/s] £280 inc the gig bag with collection from Wrexham. I'm willing to meet somewhere close(ish) but I don't want to courier unless it's at your risk and cost as I've had a recent bad experience with another sale. 6. .the 'L' shaped white tape on the LH side of the cab is just on there from sound engineers placing mic's..........
7. can I get a bump?!! Any interest guys? Can't get much for this sort of money so it is something of a bargain. I will be driving a van down the M40 to Oxford in the next 2 weeks to collect some furniture......I could bring the cab with me..........
8. For sale is my trusty Warwick 410 Pro 8 ohm 4x10 cab. It's about 5 yrs old and I've had it from new. Think it cost me around £480 or similar. It's got a few marks externally but still looks fine and sounds ace. A corner protector or 2 has come loose so I'll replace them. I don't have the castors anymore but it's on rubber feet anyway. It's a great cab and I've never had any issues with it. It's fairly light too - 1 man can lift it on his own with ease. This is the blurb off the Warwick site - http://www.warwick.d...kID=25298&cl=EN My pics aren't close ups - they're what I've had on my phone from gigs - It's been used In Wembley, Old Trafford, Millennium Stadium, Rockfield and more. I can get close ups on sat when I'm next at the studio if needs be. It's located in Wrexham and I'd like you to collect ideally. Pm me anyway and we can sort something..... [s]£130.00 [/s] [s]NOW £110.00 Someone take it from me! A steal!! [/s]NO LONGER FOR SALE No trades or PX's. I'm wanting cash to put towards a Barefaced S12T. Cheers!!
9. Have a bump on me as I have the exact same bass - identical. Mine is a 2002 ish one. Pick up spacing is 60's to confirm. Nice bass.
10. Since 1997 when I started playing, early on say 10 or so a year for a couple of years, then I joined a 'proper' originals band where we were gigging at least twice a week, if not more, had a few years on tour, plus depping etc etc, now last 5 years with busy function band doing around an average of 2 / 3 per week I'm pretty certain I'm well over 1500. Wow. That's just on bass guitar. If I include playing Tuba, from 1994 to present it doesn't bear thinking about!
