  1. Sorry I didn't get back to you, I've been having way too much fun with this little box of tricks. It's tiny, comes with a nice little protective case, lots of warnings not to be too rough with it which raised a bit of a flag. However, it comes with a four year warranty which is not to be sniffed at and really, once you connect the app on your phone, you don't need to touch the device itself. The effects I have tried sound good, except the pitch shift which is horrible. The wireless foot pedal I bought to compliment it is great, the app super simple to use and that's all I can say so far.
  2. I believe @verb has a wanted ad for a Harley Benton Jazz
  3. The P1 arrives this afternoon. First impressions to follow. I'll gig it on Thursday.
  4. This has to be the nicest bass on sale here right now.
  5. Beautiful. Love a bit of bling on a bass.
  6. I have some mates coming from the US for a visit end of the year. Wonder if they could get one past customs 🤔
  7. Always think these things are worth a punt. The occasions they work out leave me very smug. When they don't on the other hand... My sympathies.
  8. It's definitely a box I'm happy to have recently opened but I can't see any way out of it
  9. Great advice everyone thank you
  10. This makes sense to me. But I have a very strict bass tutor who seldom allows me to take the easy path
  11. Hey that's a good idea.
  12. If they ever do a padded, non leather, 4"er then I'm in!
  13. I could but I'm in bed now! There is the occasional F# and the occasional Bb and mixing them seemed odd to me.
  14. These are the best I've ever used. Harley Benton do their own version for those who want to save a quid. The idea of replacing 50 odd pairs of strap buttons doesn't appeal to me. I have used the expensive clunky things other folk like, but never again.
  15. Reading a transcription in key of C. It employs both flat and sharp symbols. I was under the impression one ought not to mix these and I can make sense of the why and how in all other keys but not C. Is there a rule?
  16. Good point. I'm not really in the category though. Since becoming persona non grata in my marriage I have been polluting my mother's house under the guise of supporting her in her dotage. Any little bit I earn I spend on gear. One day coming I will list it all in a massive fire sale and strike out as a hobo.
  17. Ha ha, I'm not sure the honourable marketing department of Mooer Inc sees the orthopaedic benefits to middle aged men as a major sales pitch
  18. In case you think I'm being a bit po faced in response to Jack's good natured humour, please allow me to expand. I recently nearly broke my neck and an expensive instrument slipping over on a cable. They provide wonderful trip hazards and as such their elimination is one less disaster waiting to happen. I'm still in considerable pain nearly a month later. Petrol being £1523.50 a half litre, any reduction in the weight my car carries saves me serious cash. Also saves my back. Mains powered, pricey effects boards at the front of the stage (pub floor) are vulnerable to punter's/singer's feet and beer. The amount of things that can go wrong on a conventional board with multiple patch cables and power cables and pedals is huge. I don't need to bend over to tweak effects if they're on my phone, clamped to my stand. Saves my ancient back and doesn't strain my crappy eyesight. Anyway all this is moot until I get it - it might be a piece of S H one tea, we'll see.
  19. It's funny, because I actually saw it as a way of cutting out a number of things that could go wrong 🤷‍♂️
  20. I've ordered mine with the wireless pedal they produce for it. I'll let you know.
  21. I don't know. Can't remember where I bought it so I can't look it up I'm afraid
  22. I would keep the second knobs (from the left) at 12 o clock. Then pick a sound to play with with the far right knob (the Farage as I call it). Now work through the Variations knob until you find something you might be able to work with. Then start playing with the tone / rate controls to explore all the possibilities of that sound (also mixing it with your clean tone).
  23. I can use a wired connection. I'm just curious as to what is going on. The neighbours are a possibility but with the old receiver I never had a problem.
