Moffat Bass Bash 9.

3. You would be very welcome.
4. No more takers from the people in this thread looking for a Bass Bash north of the border. You get to meet Dave Swift and play with more bass gear short of going down south, has to be worth a punt.

Moffat Bass Bash 9.

With the holidays just about over it could be time to think about booking up for this years Moffat Bass Bash.

Moffat Bass Bash 9.

Anyone thinking is coming along for the weekend should think about booking a ticket sooner rather than later. Cheers Alan
7. It is the advantage of building from scratch and specifying what you would prefer, but as you mentioned that comes at a cost. Just been discussing the flat finger board with another guy on TB he prefers the radius as well. I think it also relates to what you are used to. He comes from a more Fender vintage type back ground and misses not having the radius. Which is why I do offer a radius as a no cost option but only in the Custom and Uber Series.. Cheers Alan
8.
I would agree with that. I know a lot of passionate ACG fans, and have tried some. I then bought one of his ex demo ones, and it is a very good bass. Unfortunately for me the neck is quite big and for some reason I find it a bit slow, so my main bass is still the Ibanez. It is still a work of beauty though and it sounds wonderful (even though it is passive). Certainly if it had a narrower neck it would probably be my main bass.
That particular bass was built in order to be sent out as a demo bass. As such the neck was made a bit more chunky because I anticipated it being sent out on a regular basis so it would encounter a fair number of different environments so I erred on the side of stability. I think I mentioned this to you when we were talking about it. Again as a custom builder there is a reasonable amount of variation in the necks I build. Some people ask for them to thin others chunky. Unless I have a specific remit I tend towards the slimmer neck but again it is an asymmentric neck so the feel of the neck is different from the usual suspects.
9. It has both, piezo in the nut and the bridge. The nut one was used to produce some unusual sounds. Talk to Kev about it he ordered the bass.

11. Tickets are now available for next years Moffat Bass Bash. We have Dave Swift joining us for the weekend. All the details can be found at: http://www.moffatbassbash.co.uk More info will be added as we get nearer to the event. As always there are a limited number of weekend and Sunday tickets so very much first come first served. Alan
12. Active fretless bass standard Series £1210.00 so not the £2K mark.
13. The pickups are built into the ramp. The ramp can't be removed.
14. Myself and John East will be there, building stock for it already.
15. The bass is active it has a two band EQ with the battery in the control cavity.
16.
oo if the stock fretless one happened to be unlined 34" scale 4 string and recurve shaped (headless or otherwise) that might be very tempting indeed...
I am afraid not it is a 5 string Krell. I do have a stock Recurve 4 I am working on as well.
17. There are only two Uber fretless one in Germany and the one I have so the chances are not great I am afraid. I am however building one for stock and the to have at the London show.
18.
oo actually yeah I did love the clarity of the uber I tried when you came down to Manchester that time...must find a reason to be passing Moffatt...
Sure any time. My own 4 has the prototype MC pickups in it and a DFM pre-amp also 33" scale.
19. Filter pre-amps work particularly well with fretless. If you are ever up my way my own two basses are fretless you are welcome to try them out. An Uber Recurve 4 and a Krell 6.

Whats in the box.

I have always liked tremolo on fretless bass much more than chorus but finding one that works well with bass is not easy most are aimed at guitarists. My particular quest is now over the Gravitas Tremolo. Having only scratched the surface of the many possibilities offered by this pedal I am more than happy with it. I know there is only a choice of 3 but not the Warped Vinyl which I would quiet like as well.
22. I have been looking forward to this arriving very high hopes indeed for it. Still have to work this afternoon so it has to say in the box until later this evening.
