1. Bought this very recently from Phil Ward of this parish. It's a great bass, but clearly not for me. Below is the original sale thread: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2834886 Still in the same condition- the only change is I've shimmed the neck to lower the action. Interested in trades for a 4 string fretless, plus or minus cash, or for sale delivered at £350. Thanks for looking.
2. Any more info?

6. Bump for a fine fretless ( and no charge for the alliteration )
7. No, no truss rod, and it has never moved...
8. Well, it's still for sale. Had some interest, but nothing has developed so far.... I still have a deep hankering for the Prosebass you got from me a while ago (he hints...)
9. Just did a trade with Philippe, sight unseen. He sent pics of the bass being wrapped for posting, and of the shipping label, which was very reassuring. Great bass, great guy to deal with
10. Just sold my Hohner 6 string to John. All smooth, no fuss. A good guy to deal with
11. Sold my Headway preamp to Ian. All went very smoothly, with good communication from Ian. Easy to do business with.
12. Piccolos sold. The others still available. Get 'em while they're hot
13. And sold!.....
14. Cash preferred, but whaddya got?
15. Just want what I paid for it (Ebay bargain)

19. I bought this recently off Ebay to test a theory. It's a really nice instrument, quite light, not neck heavy, well made, Hipshot licensed tuners. 2 soapbar humbuckers, with separate volumes and a stacked active bass/treble operated by a switch. It also has a dial on the control cavity cover to balance the passive output with the active. This is a great feature- I use it passively, with the active set to boost the back pickup, which is a bit weak on it's own. Different tones easily available with the two volumes. In very good condition, three very small dings in the lacquer, that's it. I've used up my quota on pics for now, but I'll put more up when I've sorted it. £150 plus postage, or maybe meet up somewhere halfway, depending. Any question, please ask. Cheers...
20. I like this bass so much, I've owned it twice! However, it's sound is duplicated by my Ibanez, and too many basses distract me from actually learning, so here it is... I tend to think of it as a poor man's Hyperbass, and if you look at it sideways and squint, you'll see what I mean. I refinished the body in Danish Oil, flattened and epoxied the fingerboard, lowered the action, and changed the vol knob to tone. The finish is a bit rough in places, as I was too impatient, but it's well in keeping with the overall aesthetic. It feels and sounds really, really good- harmonics are very strong. It has a new set of Elite groundwounds on. £150 plus postage, or I'm willing to meet up somewhere reasonable. Any questions, please ask. Cheers......
21. I got this 2nd hand from Dave Wilson, along with my incredible Firecreek semi-hollow fretless, but my amp can handle the bass without the Headway, so it's here for sale. Excellent condition, comes with instructions, power supply, and box. £75 plus postage
22. D'Addario EXL280 Piccolo strings. 4 string set- 20p,32,42,52. Almost new. Only minimally cut, so will fit any long scale configuration. £10 posted. NOW SOLD D'Addario Chromes 5 string (B-G). Came on my Ibanez Portamento, and I changed them for Thomastiks very shortly after, so they are virtually unplayed. Cut for a 2/3 side headstock. £15 posted 3 sets of short scale (4's) strings 1. D'Addario Chromes flatwounds 2. Rotosound Monel flatwounds 3. D'Addario (I think) roundwounds, but with a clear coating. Older than the above two sets, but still with plenty of life. All cut for 4 in line headstock, 30" scale. £30 posted
23. I'm fascinated by the luthier's art, and I love the great variety of beautiful woods available, but how do you tell a good piece from an indifferent one? They all sound the same when I knuckle them. Also, how do you know which woods will combine well? Is it just received wisdom?
