1. Shameless plug coming up: I'm selling at EXAR Pignose enevlope filter here for £60 posted.. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=17127 You can here some sound clips here http://www.public-peace.de/exar/pignose/pignose.htm I don't know how close they are to the sound you are looking for though as I haven't seen the dvd. Cheers Chris
2. Bump - Please listen to the soundclips on here! http://www.public-peace.de/exar/pignose/pignose.htm
3. Yes I suppose it must be.. the guy who asked for the quote was in a rush so it was the fastest option.
4. Just got a quote from the post office of £5.05 for next day recorded delivery.
5. Yep they are indeed hand made by a team of 10 so definitely boutique I think the soundclips speak for themselves really!
6. Hi Linus, I'm afraid the whole lot is sold pending payment. Although the guy does need a while to drum up the funds so should it fall through I will contact you.
7. Yeah I think fun is the best way to describe envelope filters really Price drop to £60 + shipping.
8. Umm I used this a few years ago and from what I can remember You assemble your sequence in the sequence window on the right hand side (might be hidden by a tab) you create a track for each part I think and then fill in on the grid which part you want to play when. Then export the audio and go for the song option rather than pattern. Hope that helps.
9. Interesting.. According to hereEXAR are marketed in the USA under the Jacques name although it appears Jacques also sell handmade stompboxes that they build themselves. I don't believe there is a Jacques version of the Pignose though.
10. I bought this pedal about a year ago based on the soundclips below. I used it a couple of times playing around with it but never found a use for it with my band. Consequently it has been sitting in its box for the last 10 months. It is in mint condition and has never even had a battery put in to it or been stomped on! Box and manual both supplied. The PN-04 is an envelope-filter, which is controlled by the dynamics of the instrument. The louder the input-signal, the brighter the tone, the lower the inputsignal, the darker the tone. The PN-04 produces a sound similar to a conventional Wah without using a foot-pedal. The three adjustment-knobs allow a wide variety of wah-sounds, also providing a sensitivity-control to fit the needs of your instrument. I bought the pedal from Public Peace in Germany for 99 Euros + shipping. According to XE.com 99 euros in GBP = £79.44 So I am asking £60 posted Soundclips! Scroll down to the bottom of the page for soundclips and settings. My favourite is 'Funki Hanki' and the pedal really nails that sounds! http://www.public-peace.de/exar/pignose/pignose.htm EXAR aren't that well known, infact I have never heard them mentioned on here and only once on talkbass, so here is some information from their website http://www.exarelectronix.com/index.php?fi...amp;nazwa=pn-04 [i]EXAR Electronix are the original boutique pedal manufacturer, designing and hand building their own innovative electronic circuits in Poland since 1983. 11. Yeah I couldn't agree more I was very impressed, infact I was going to post this in off topic before I saw this thread. I thought the DJ ruined it a bit though, needless scratching at every vocal break.
12. Stu Hamm does a rather tasteful version of Moonlight Sonata with some tapping, might be worth looking at that?
13.
I know Hydrogen is the business on Linux, it's also available now for windows and OSX... http://www.hydrogen-music.org/forum/?actio...id=8&page=1 there's a file I did earlier with some shuffle patterns in it and a song arrangement strung together with some of them... but it's nice to know Hammerhead runs on Linux if anyone ever sends you a .HH file or you find some ready made .HH files on the web...
Going off topic a little here but can I ask what Linux distro you are running?
14. I have been using hot stepper for a few years and it's pretty good. Paul Cooke - Hydrogen is meant to be the business on Linux, I have heard nothing but good things about it.
15. Thanks everyone for the PMs. One of my bass teachers students who is local has shown interest in the lot and I am giving him first refusal, but will get back to you all if the deal falls through. Thanks again Chris
16.
How much for he head or what are you looking for in trades ?
I need to have a think what is a sensible price, I think I paid £250 for it last year but I realise they have gone down in value a bit. Care to PM me an offer or I will have a hunt around and get back to you?
Shame you couldn't organise transport for the cabs! Just out of interest... does the diffuser on your hairdryer affect the tone much?
If you were interested I could look into delivery for the cabinets, it just seems that with them being quite cheap delivery wouldn't be so cost effective. If you have any suggestions as to a suitable delivery service I would welcome them I think buisness post delivered my 4x10 so I shall check with them. The hair dryer warms up the tone nicely but I have since removed the diffuser as I found it made the sound a little to directional for my liking. I quite fancy one of these vintage models though..
17. Not mine to sell I'm afraid, been on loan from my bass teacher for quite a while. Wicked sounding box though!
18. I would echo whats been said already, they are pretty clean and powerful amps. If you prefer a warmer tone there is a modification where you can replace the valve inside with another one (I think it was a groove tube but not sure of the model) and that is supposed to make a huge difference to the sound. There was a time when everyone on here was doing that. Just a quick plug, I have a flightcased HA3500 for sale if your interested? If your ever around my neck of the woods you would be welcome to try it too. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=15774
