On the plus side not 2 days after the exchange I managed to sell my original MB LMII head and made a good part of my money back... oh and Darren did apply a nice basschat forum discount. Top Marks on all account. The tube preamp has made a considerable change in sound, it has given the amp the required warmth it lacked and with the tube blend knob you can dial it in at your perusal from totally solid state to 50% solid/tube to 100% tube preamp offering me the best of both worlds. Bass people.. A friend needs a gig-worthy bass combo. It his not his main instrument but he deps on bass in a few bands and needs a decent combo to cope. I am not really conversant with what is good in the £250 max price range. Quick online scan reveals the Behringer BLX3000 or BLX3000a to be good - any thoughts on these? diff btwn alu and non alu speakers. Anything else to consider at this price point? There are alot of 100w-150w combos about at this price or less, but I'm not sure this will cut it for him, hence the Behringers, which are less than £200! He and I woudl be grateful for any thoughts Cheers Chris
