1. when you say gaps, do you mean the grain or notches or holes in the wood? Also, what wood is it?
2. usually the orange peel effect is applying too much laquer. As u r using a spray can it might be that you are holding the can to close or not moving the can quick enough. I've never used t cut on a finish so i'm not sure if it could be that.
3. You guys know what your talking about. What do you think is the most transparent amp? I'm looking at getting a new rig in the not to distant future, what would you guys recomend?
4. http://www.dv247.com/guitars/aer-head-one-bass-guitar-amp-head--54922 Looks like the head version. Wouldn't mind a blast of one of these!

7. Hi guys and gals Just trying to post some pics, but having some problems.
8. Thanks timmyta, I think its violin corners. I've been sick the past few days so haven't managed to take any pics yet, I shall have some up this week. Hopfully with some more sound samples to. Thats the great thing about this bass, it's easy to get the higher notes to play melodies etc. And when you do go up into the thumb position you can hit some nice hight notes. Its also Great for playing fast bop lines as you can pritty much stay in the first position and hit all the notes (in one octave) Thanks for the reply.
9. Hi guys and gals, I cant get my hands on a camera yet but as promised here are some sound samples. Please remember that I cant really play DB ;-) Especially Arco. But i'm sure you can still hear the quality of this bass.
10. Hi all, For sale is my DB. I bought it from yita music, china about 3 or 4 years ago. It has a spruce top with figured maple back and sides and an ebony finger board. This thing sounds great! The finish is very interesting, it has a vintage look finish. Which I dig. I bought this bass for £1500 (after paying all taxes etc) then spent about £300 on the strings. I'm looking for about £1200. I'd prefer the bass to be picked up from Liverpool, but as I still have the box I could look into delivery. I'll put some pics and sound samples on next week. Any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks-Paul-
11. I've tried both, and prefer the DR's. There both quality strings it just comes down to what you prfer. I'd give the DRs a run out, ou've got nothing to loose.
12. Looks like purple chilli have released somthing similar to this. wonder what the difference will be? Also laney, with thier nexus tube.
13. Has anyone tried the Markbass TTE 500? Seen any reviews? Interested in how this will sound. Thanks
14. A lot of it has to do with the pups, every time you hit the string the magnets demagnetise a little bit. After 60 years it makes quite the difference to the sound.
15. This one is sold now, sorry. Not sure how to remove the thred. Or change the title, any help?
16. To sweeten the deal I've just put a brand new set of DR Handmade Marcus Miller sig strings on!
17. Jaco 1976, Jamiroquai/ travelling without moving, blood sugar sex magic, the revolution will not be telivised /gill scott heron, and many more. Thats how I learned to play. Well that and 2 years of college and 3 in uni ;-)
18. I didn't think there where so many scousers on here!
19. Hi Jake, welcome to bass chat from another local ;-)
20. Thanks pete, it sure is a great Jazz sound. It's great for funk, slap and I've gigged it many times playing jazz standards so its a versitile beast, looks cool and is in great condition for its age!
21. Vintage is better in my opinion, they look far cooler and have better resale value aswell. I'm starting making guitars and basses too, come down my workshop if your looking to buy a bass. I've got a couple of prototypes you can try out. I'll tell michael I was chatin' to you on bass chat.
