  1. I wonder how this compares to the ME-90B bar the interface and the guitar flavoured stuff that would be incompatible with bass, some of the time at least? I do genuinely really love the ME-90B, I just wish it was a bit smaller, about the exact same size as this new effort actually... It is great seeing that someone isn't forgetting about us bassists when it comes to this stuff. I know the HX stuff can work really well with bass but it's chock full of stuff we don't need. I wonder if they'll ever create a bass only software version, surely it wouldn't take much?

  3. You forgot to add that they're CRAZY too, will #3 be of a similar flavour?
  4. Yup, I have heard that too. I think there's two factors in play, English isn not his 1st language and I also expect he gets a load of emails. In person, I am told he's a really genuine and warm guy, Adrian Maruszczyk that is. Jon Shuker, I have dealt with, and he's super friendly and laid back. A little slow on comms sometimes, but I don't think that's uncommon among luthiers, as their time is better spent whittling wood into instruments
  5. Good suggestion, but I think the OP wants a UK built one, if he's willing to wobble on that though, I reckon one of those would be perfect!
  6. Jon will do a 32" scale. He's very accommodating, I wouldn't hesitate to give him a shout.
  7. I'd always recommend an ACG everyone, but if you want something more traditionally accurate and old school, Jon Shuker would absolutely sort you out, as would Manton Customs. I think Overwater do a PJ but I they're WAY over your budget starting over £3200 for a basic classic P!
  8. Mad to think that the quiet rig looks louder than the loud one!
  9. Woof!
  10. I guess if this is an exercise in seeing what they should've done, then yes, they might well be laughing their asses off I guess? I think there's a lot more people over on TalkBass who are happy to drink Fender's Kool-Aid, but I think is Brits aren't convinced 😎
  11. There could be a job for you at Fender HQ in the “secret plans and clever tricks” department...
  12. Yeah, I mentioned similar in conversation yesterday, must be a total echo chamber at Fender HQ. I wonder if anyone will do anything radical there today like having pickle on a cheese sandwich! Groundbreaking!
  13. I expect the neck dive is bad enough on a 4, with a MASSIVE Fender style 4+1 headstock it'll probably be terrible...
  14. "Innovation" my eye. And those prices!?
  15. I choose death.
  16. I would love to see an affordable, but quality Fender branded Musicmaster Bass reissue, with a better pickup. Hardly innovation, but I think that's the only itch left to scratch that would probably appeal to Fender heads. I know there have been some wild things over the years too, but I doubt they'd be commercially viable.
  17. Totally agree with all of that, they're clearly doing everything right, the issue we're all taking is the use of words Innovation and Fender in the same sentence 😁
  18. Thank you matey, and thank you for your advice on the subject too 😁
  19. Couple of days in, but man alive this cab is incredible! So much slam, punch, and the sound pressure this thing produces is incredible, I was actually quite shocked, it was like standing too close to a proper PA rig. The build quality is impeccable. It's a lightweight cab, but extremely solid, reassuringly so. I purposely left my amp set as I last used it at home with 2 x Barefaced One10s which had a combined load of 4 Ohms, the Monza on it's own, at 8 Ohms was so loud I had to turn it down. The Monza also reproduces the low B on my 6ers much more effectively, which i was really looking for. I don't mean to poo poo the One10s, they're great cabs, especially given the size and weight, but they're just too vintagey for me. The Monza definitely hits everything I was looking for, and then some I imagine. I hope to get out to jam soon, so I can test it at proper volumes, but I'm extremely confident it will deliver I should also add how great Stevie was to deal with, an absolute gent and clearly exceptionally talented! Thank you @stevie! Eude
  20. Another vote for LFSys here. I've just replaced two Barefaced One10s with a single LFSys Monza, the 1x10 cab. It's only been a couple of days, but leaving all the settings as they were using the two One10s, the single Monza cab, at 8 ohms, was actually louder and had so much more punch. It's light but solidly built, impressively so. I always find the Barefaced stuff feels a little flimsy, although they are actually pretty darned solid. I imagine an LFSys Monaco would do the job perfectly!
  21. They may do something incredibly radical like a reverse headstock 🤦‍♂️

  23. If only this kind of talent could be billed for! 😁
  24. Folks who do, or did a scroll upper horn that I can recall include, Carl Thompson (the original), Hilton, Huff (who went down in flames owing a lot of people money/basses), Eve (don't think they're going anymore), May (still going, but the article probably predates him), and Gnome I think was another one? If the builder was UK based I think it might've been Eve? There's probably loads more out there but brain fade prevents full recall... 😎
