1. I just played a bass VI and I desperately need one in my life now. So bump. Trade or sale. Xx
2. Bump for a versatile active bass. Controls are bass boost/treble boost/passive and pup selector as well as volume and frequency sweep pots. xx

4. Damn and blast. I spent forever trying to get a used compressore for around that price but they kept getting snapped up! I opted for an MXR instead and now this! xx
5. Cab sensitivity is something I've never given much thought to, so that could be the big difference. I've bought an LB212 and it's due any day, will bring that into the practice room and try it. I reckon that the 810 I was using was a pretty low sensitivity (I think it was an Ashdown MAG series but can't be sure for now). ...and thanks for all the input! xx
6. T'was a 4ohm 8x10 I was running. Yeah I know the power output will be the same, just curious if the different load has any effect on the perceived volume - since 4ohm will pull 2.7A at ~11V, but 8ohm will take 1.9A at ~16V, so although the power is the same, perhaps the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. Weird though, I would have expected an 8x10 to move WAY more air than a 1x15... Either way, I'm happy with the purchase, I love the wee guy! Just wanted to compare some notes with other folks who have gigged 'em. Will try her through some different cabs and see what the result is. I have an LB2x12 on its way too so I look forward to putting that through it's paces!! xx
7.
I have gigged mine in a small venue with just a 1x15, and I don't think I turned the volume past 12 o'clock. (It certainly never goes past 11 o'clock in the rehearsal room!) Granted, the place was probably under 100 capacity, but it was perfectly loud with no PA support. I think it may depend on your playing style, though: our guitarist often describes me as a "lead bassist" so it's fine to have my tone dominated by honking midrange and valve grit. If you're more of a groove/pocket player then you might need power to push the low end...though for a 30W amp, the Little Bastard really can put out a lot of low end if you crank the bass control!
Out of curiosity, was the cab 4 or 8 ohms? xx
8.
Oh - I thought this was going to be another Barefaced thread... But isn't the main problem the "30" in the name? Is 30 watts ever going to be enough (assuming the rating is accurate) to manage a decent gig? I'd have thought not...
I was skeptical too, but other users said they'd gigged them and been fine! As I said, it did have just about enough juice in the practice room so I imagine if I had a less "enthusiastic" guitarist then it would still work for small gigs, providing I turned it up to 11! xx
9. I recently picked up an Ashdown LB30 - delicious tubey goodness without a monster pricetag, but also without a monster output. I wanted a tube amp because I want grit and grind, not hugely fussed about having a clean signal, before I got the LB I was using a Muff to add some grit into a solid state head. Now I know tube amps love a bit of abuse, but I've read that these LB30s have been used for small gigs and practises and I'm on the fence - I could JUST keep up all the dials near 11, and that was with a pretty beefy input signal coming through a Hartke VXR preamp pedal and running through a 4ohm 8x10! I know I could take a DI out and run into a PA channel, which would pretty much my problems, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has used these amps in a "loud" scenario and what kind of settings they used to get the maximum OOMPH out of it? And also, I've read that tubes love abuse but I've never ran one before so I wanted to check again - surely running an amp with EVERYTHING at full toast can't be good for the thing? There was a little warmth coming from the vents after an hour or so but nothing out of the ordinary.. just seems like it's the kind of thing that SHOULD be breaking the amp..?! xx
10. Bought his Little Bastard. All smooth sailing, great price and a well-looked-after piece of kit. Happy. xx
11. I purchased his big muff - great price, quick delivery and great condition. Happy. xx
12. Ahoy, I have a black D-Tuner with useless, burred mounting screws - I need a 6x3.8", posidrive countersunk black screw. Well, 4 of them. Anyone recommend websites that sell this kind of replacements? They don't seem to be available commercially so I assume I might have to get in touch with Hipshot? I've had a look here http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/screws_tuner.htm and have had no luck. xx
13. Well colour me educated, I had no idea. Looked badass though, I'm considering opening up my cab and installing some blubs and LEDs to have the same effect! xx
14. Playing a gig last night, one of the bands has a pretty loud, snarling bass setup - playing a precision through a couple of pedals including an ODB and a Blackstar valve preamp pedal, into a Warick amp through an ashdown 410. He must've been riding the amp pretty hard as when he played, a white glow started to show up around the top two speakers! Never seen anything like it before! He brought the volume down after that and all returned to normal - anyone have any idea what on earth was happening?? xx
15. Bought a BT2 tuner. Arrive quickly, great nick, cracking price. Gent. xx
16.
I have fitted both Hipshot A and Gotoh bridges to P.Basses and, for what I need, prefer the Hipshot A. Whether it fits under a cover or not I don't know, but it is a serioously good bit of kit. It also has quick fit for the string ends, rather than having to string them through, which might be useful if you have a cover fitted. If you need to know the clearance I can measure it if you like.
If you'd be so kind as to measure it that'd be absolutely lovely, cheers! xx
17. Ahoy. Probably covering old ground here but I've just bought a crappy P of fleabay to do up. All new hardware and pups etc. She has a thru-body mount, but I need to double check if it's 3 or 5 hole! Anyway, I want an ashtray type bridge cover and a pup cover on her, but I also want a nice, solid bridge on there. I understand a Badass 2 won't fit underneath a standard bridge cover? What about a hipshot A style? What about this gotoh? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gotoh-201-Bass-Bridge-Black-Chrome-fits-Fender-bass-/230921718573?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item35c401cb2d Any good? Would it be as good as a high-mass option? I have a Babicz on a J-Bass which I rather love, but it definitely won't fit under a cover! Any recommendations happily recieved. xx
18.
I think that black one in the OP loks awful, but I love the body shape!

That's a beauty IMHO.

I'd rather have the option for a P90 in the bridge and FA in the neck, but otherwise I'd happily have one (if it wasn't a grand a pop!)

xx
19. I have one of these and she's a total workhorse. Surprisingly versatile and plenty of oomph. She's one of the basses I have which I really couldn't sell, as I feel she's worth so much more than the "market value". Someone needs to buy this and land a bargain! xx
