HB Jr is the MAN. Powers everything, all the noise is gone, works a treat. Plus it's TINY! It's about the same size as a standard Boss pedal. Win. xx

Pulled the trigger on a HB Jr. Found a few folks saying they run on just about any PSU. If it doesn't work, I'll kill everyone. Everyone. xx

Hmmmmmmmm. I'm so glad I didn't just jump into this one!! Looking and feeling it, it really does just feel like bare wood. Will try to get some pics and see if any of y'all can help me work out what's there. xx

The reason I was thinking about using oil was that I had found a few folks recommending it as it can give a nice, fast finish to a neck and be reasonably easy to apply - I hadn't thought you could use varnish without having to spray it on and was worried about runs in it etc etc. xx

This is why I'm glad I asked. So I paint and decal, oil the neck (but don't oil the painted headstock) and then laquer over the headstock? Or should I ditch the oil altogether if I want to paint and just go with an all over laquer? Sorry if these are n00b questions, but I'm a n00b to this. xx

Hey, Apologies if this is in the wrong sub-forum. Anyway, I have a maple neck, with maple board. I want to paint the headstock, add a decal then finish with tru oil or similar. In my head the process would be: Paint headstock Sand paint Repaint if necessary repeat till pretty. add decal oil - 3 coats sand another 3 coats of oil Now, first of all - is that right to paint the headstock then oil over it? Or should it go oil - paint - decal - more oil? Or what..? Next - should I just oil the maple board the same as I plan to with the rest of the neck? Should I mask the board and leave it unfinished...? Etc etc. Have found a few tips on finishing the NECK but it's all been using rosewood and always said to mask it and not finish it, but I'm not sure if I should do the same with a maple board? Any help appreciated, Ta xx

Only other worry is that I also use a Hartke VXL which, according to the website, comes with a 200mA PSU and the Jnr only gives out 120mA. Yeah I was thinking it's some kind of ground fault - if that's the case it should be an easy enough fix. Might check out a local tech and see how much a repair will cost. xx

Ahoy! I've purchased a tube preamp pedal from a fellow BCer. I've contacted him to ask if he has known of any previous issues, the item was reasonably well packaged but I'd assume there was damage in transit. The details: I plug her in with no ins or outs connected and it's all fine. No earthing issues that I can see and the on/off switch isn't live. Then, when I plug anything into a channel out, the connector goes live and zaps me, as does the on/off switch. Also, when the pedal is inactive and I give the pedal a tap, the status LED flickers. Is this a common thing with tube pedals?? Am I doing something retarded here or is the kit borked? xx

I'll start by saying sorry if this has been asked a squillion times before - but I need some advice re: power supply choice for the pedal board I'm in the process of putting together. Currently I have: TU-2 (tuner) LMB-3 (limiter/enhancer) ODB-3 (overdrive/distortion) On the way are: EHX 2UBE (tube pre) Hartke VXL Bass Attack (pre) I'm well aware that I shouldn't need the 2ube, hartke AND the ODB, plan is to keep one as an "always one" and another as a "the guitarist is pratting about with a solo, need to step up the noise to hold the rythm fort" boost. ANYWAY. The daisy chain seems to work OK for the LMB and the TU-2 together, though. My question is: if I want a 9V psu that can power the Hartke, ODB, LMB and TU2, do I need to spend a fortune? (The 2ube has it's own 12VAC supply). I don't own a terror bass but it's on my GAS list. I love the idea of it being in a traditional looking Orange tolex covered wooden case - I'd go for one providing the weight and cost were reasonably low. xx

Ahhhh the berhinger sounds like a shout! Might do the same as Bassmachine and get the berhinger as a "mean time" solution and see what I think. Other temptation is the EHX 2ube but it doesn't have a DI out, which is rather annoying, but then again most venues I play have a DI box wired into their PA and into the house amp so odds I won't need XLR out THAT often.... xx

So I'm, looking to invest in one of these babies, means I'll be able to axe my OD-B and will also be handy for most of the gigs I do as I generally get DI'd straight to the board, so running my DI from a sansamp means I'll get a nice, ballsy FOH sound. ANYWAY - what's the difference between the para driver and the bass driver? The para driver seems more tweakable, but is 6 of one... or is it worth holding out for a bargain on a para driver rather than a bass driver? xx
