1. Hey, I've mentioned in the other thread that I'm ideally after a trade for one in black but I'd let it go for.. say.. £70 posted to the UK? xx
2. Bass BlackDog bridge in black. £15. Mint, never used. Bought for a project that is being axed. 4 x Black tuning pegs from my MIM jazz bass. Slightly tatty but functionally fine. £20 for all 4 delivered.. £30 for the tuners and the blackdog bridge. Loaded and wired Jazz bass control plate, chrome. [s]£20[/s] £15. £40 for the lot. tuners, bridge and control plate. Guitar Set of Duncan designed humbuckers.[s] £20 [/s]SOLD[s].[/s] Set of Duncan designed P90s.[s] £20[/s]. SOLD. xx
3. Have a chrome babicz 4 string bridge - like this one: It's pretty much mint, out the box, on to my bass and barely been out of the case since. Will trade for either a Babicz 4 in black or a badass 2 in black as I've decided to overhaul the bass with black hardware. Will consider selling for around [s]£80[/s] £60 if I can find a black one for sale for the same amount. Pics on request if required. xx
4. Had a wee noodle on one of these in a shop when I had some time to kill - absolutely stunning amount of bass for the money. Played like a dream, had a cracking sound, too. I've played basses worth twice the money that aren't half as good as this thing. Once I sell some odds and ends I'll definitely be taking a punt on one methinks. xx
5. Forgot to mention - £300 for the lot includes UK P&P. xx
6. I have an Ashdown Mag300 head and a berhinger rack tuner all in a gator 4u flight case. The MAG 300s seem to be going for around the £150-200 mark on ebay. The tuners are going between £50-70 And the cases sell for around £100 I don't have any pics as yet, but I'd like to see close to £300 (inc UK delivery) for it before I let it go. I'll consider splitting it up but will want a little more cash for the hastle. This is the amp model, the MAG 300, not the EVO, and it's a rack mountable head, not a combo. Some slight damage to the tuner - the big turny wheel control is missing, but it's still 100% adjustable. Other bass amp head trades considered - specifically interested in a part exchange against a terror bass head but feel free to make offers for other hybrids heads. xx
7. I've been having some problems with this lately, too. Especially when it comes to playing thrashy, offbeat punk tunes. You just have to drill the bass into your head until you can play it without thinking, then get the same level of familiarity with the vocals. xx
8. Bathroom scales weigh the bass at around 8.9 lbs. Going twice.. xx
9. She really is a beauty. Absolutely gutted to have to let her go. Once my finances are back on track I'll probably set out to buy another one! xx
10. There's been some interest but there's still room for more contestants in the bidding war. Best offer so far is £600+delivery. Going once... xx
11. Thanks for the kind words. Just FYI, I'm afraid I'm not looking for any trades (unless you're silly enough to offer me something I can immediately sell for twice what I'm asking for here... ) I've replied to your PM Ash but for those interested, I'll get the bathroom scales out tonight and give you a weight. A bit of googling seems to think it's around 8.3 lbs but, as I said, I'll verify when I can. xx
12. Reluctant sale to clear some debt. Amazing condition, all original. Comes with softcase. Postage at buyer's expense - would prefer local pickup in N.E. Scotland. PM with questions. Looking for £650 for quick sale, open to offers. xx
13. Yeah I just ordered a pair off amazon now - hoping they arrive before the weekend! xx
14. Thanks for the response! As it is I'm just using the cheap foam things that I've been pilfering from work assuming they'd just bring the whole frequency range down. Having a look for some of the better kit now, hopefully this'll straighten it out. Cheers! xx
15. So. When I gig I do quite a lot of backing vocals and singing, so I like to wear earplugs because it means the vocals come through really clear and I can hear my voice a lot better.. The problem is, this cuts the bass out almost completely, so I can't hear if I'm out of key, out of time or too high/low in the mix when I'm wearing them. I've tried wearing just one plug but it makes me feel weird and lopsided and generally gives me the worst of both worlds as I can't hear the vocals much better but the bass is still cut a lot. Anyone else faced similar problems? More importantly anyone have any kind of remedy...? xx
16. I love the mockup! Can't waIt to see the finished product! xx
17.
How do I attach a .pdf from my computer?
I have no idea... other than save it as a jpeg and uploading it that way... xx
18.
You don't need to link out the battery. With some cunningly placed diodes you can arrange two separate 'phantom boxes'; one you use in line with the guitar>amp lead to power the electronics from an external voltage source, and another you use to charge the guitar's internal battery when it's not being played. I'll draw a schematic if anyone's interested.
This is exactly what I was thinking - have the option to charge the battery while running the pups off the mains or switch to using the battery when I'm using a non-phantom head. Schematic would be nice, I have an idea in my head but no sense in doing work that's already done! Cheers! xx
19. Anyone out there know how feasible it would be to power your pickups from a 9V source built into your head? I'm toying with the idea of building a phantom power box that I'd run my head's output through and also add a 9V supply alongside it. Run the 9V down the lead and power the pickups with no battery... Only problem I can see is screening - I'd need to find a cable with the signal cores screened to earth to avoid noise, something like this, only runing 9V up one of the unused signal cores: Obviously I'd also need the corresponding wiring inside the bass, too. Has this ever been done or attempted before? Or is there something fundamental I'm missing? xx
