1. Bargain! What's the radius like on the fretboard, It looks quite flat-ish to me. £500. Wow. Why don't I ever come across any thing like that! Cheers, Rich
2. Very, very nice mate! Well, if you've got your hands full with this little beauty, I'll quite happily 'look after' your Stage 1 (he says, running off into the distance with it stowed under his arm.....) :-) Rich
3. Nice set there Mike, I've always been a fan of Warwick, mainly the Streamers; and that SS1 looks lovely. Your 75 Jazz is a bit special too... The neck seemed really thin (even accounting for the fact I've been playing solely 5'ers for a while now!) Mmmmmmmmm..... Rich

5. Ooooh, that's lovely! And the six strings are really suited to the body shape (or should that be the other way around?) - Looks really nicely balanced. Anyway, it looks great! Nice one! Rich
6. Christ Mike, Feel so sorry for you that it's taken so long. The only consolation I can offer is that it's going to be a stonking bass when you (finally) get your hands on it. Cheers and all the best, Rich
7. Sounds like you guys are having all the fun! Any Toon supporters amongst you folks (sorry to wander off topic...)? Rich
8.
Thanks Rich. Ive been in touch with SHX and they have the 1212L for £519 delivered. Bloody good price IMO. Ok, can i ask any 1212L owners if they have the round tweeter or older rectangle one? Just trying to get an idea of how different they sound
Bonza - can't lose at that price I reckon! Just check that it's not one of the older (first series) 'L's - They had some panels made from a 'special' MDF. Might be unrelated, but my original 1212L was, and developed a bit of a resonance around 120-150hz, which was highly annoying. To be fair, Shawn at SHX was awesome, ordered a new one from Jorg, although it took a while to come (Can't blame him for that), then he drove up to Cambridge to exchange the new one for the vibrating old one. Can't say fairer than that. The vibration was coming from the top back of the angled baffle - it just had the tiniest bit of play in it. Cheers and best of luck, Rich
9. Nice. Like it. REALLY like it! Good shapes there. Keep it up chap! Rich
10. Hi Dave, I've got the square one in - I've not been keeping up to date with any Schroeder developments. I remember there were two options before - Something like Selenium or Titanium. I don't know what this one is, though it sounds better than the rectangular one that was in my 1210. Cheers, Rich
Rich, can i ask if you have one of the newer versions with the round tweeter? I hear they are by far the best version so far? Thanks
11. Hi Dave, Thought I'd chip in as I had a 1210, and now possess a 1212L. I find the 1212 is a fair bit flatter in response than my old 1210, there's less of a low mid hump (which surprised me) and more Upper-mid (which I really used to miss with the 1210 - always felt it was slightly 'blanketed' somewhat). One thing I've noticed is that, true enough as some people will say; they don't naturally have that really deeeeeep low, just an nice useful low, plus the punch. You can dial in more lows, though up to a point (obviously) where it sounds a bit boomy (just like ANY other cabinet out there). But not that real LOW low. This may or may not be a bonus - it works well for me as I've got quite a naturally deep tone/touch when I play. I'm pretty certain that you're familiar with 'the tone' of Schroeders anyway! I think ideally I would have bought a 1210L (I reckon) but the 1212L was all SHX had in at the time, so I went with that. I've not been disappointed with it at all - I do wonder though if you'll notice much difference (especially for live work) between the 1210 and the 1212L. When are you gigging over the next month? I've got one towards the end of the month, was wondering if you'd fancy swapping the cabs for you to try the 12L before ordering it, so you can see if will work out for you? Cheers and all the best. Rich
12. I like the aesthetics of a single-cut (pretty useful, that, seeing as I own one!) - To be honest I don't know if there's any real benefit in sound/ playability terms over the regular shapes. I decided to go for a SC as I reasoned it would be the only custom that I'd have made (certainly for a long time, any way!) so why not go the whole hog and have something really bespoke to me. It gets lots of good comments while I'm out and about - Possibly far more than my actual playing! :-) Rich
13. Hmmm, was having a think about it, and guessing that they (eBay) come up double trumps as there's no PayPal involved (as per seller's demands), so they don't have to deal out any real compensation. What are they giving out these days to the ripped off, I'm guessing it's not got any better since I last looked a few years ago (something like £10 per £100 if memory serves?). Rich
You guessed it. If the guy sells £10k worth of stuff (which he'll do easily and then some) eBay will still collect £350 in final value fees; added to which he had to list all of that stuff! Hmmm now let me see! eBay are not responsible for you being scammed (at least until someone can bring a landmark case) and are entitled to keep all of the fees that they cream off ANY scammer operating on eBay... do you seriously think they'll rush to close anybody down?
14. Wow. That looks, well, stunning. The Fingerboard is gorgeous! Congratulations! Full report on it's performance is expected! Rich
15. So, are eBay actually going to do anything about it, or are they just going to sit back and take the commission.....(I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this already....) Rich
16. Blimey! Sir, I take my hat off to you, you are on the ball! I had a quick squizz at it all and couldn't see the problem, but as you say, it all adds up. When are you changing your user-name to 'Colombo'? ^_^ Rich

G-bitch

Top bloke! Sent me a lovely gig bag very rapidly. Cheers boss! Rich
18. Wow! Not too bad, considering how frickking awesome they're supposed to be! Will be listening out from Cambridge too! Nice one mate! Rich
19. Wow, that looks a very elegant solution, Paul! There's a hobby store very local to me, so I might pop in there and get some balsa. Then I'm going ot cover it in black electrical tape, squeeze it between the pickups, and maybe tape it to the pickups for a temporary fix while I have a think about what to do for a more permanent solution. What I'm hoping is that Jon (or whoever) will be able to use the facing of the wood already there to fix over a more permanent ramp, so it keeps the continuity. Cheers, Rich
20. Cheers chaps, many thanks for the suggestions I was having a think about putting a very thin ramp (say something like an ice lolly stick) across between the pick ups, not too sure if they'd be too thin and flimsy to support any weight though, might have a go anyway! If I were to make something a little more solid (say out of balsa wood) to put between the pickups, I'd be a little wary off attaching it to the body with double sided tape - I've got a satin finish (if you can see my bass!) - Would the adhesive damage the finish in any way? - Alex, I'm guessing that you'd know, assuming your Streamer (if that's the bass with the ramp) is an oil finish? Cheers again, Rich
21. Almost cr*pped myself earlier.... There I was happily playing away - practicing for an up coming gig; when I noticed I was getting pins and needles in my fingers. Beads of sweat rapidly form on my furrowed brow..... Subsequent investigation has led me to discover that I've been anchoring my thumb onto my low B string, and the underside of my forearm was cutting across the upper bout of the bass body. I've remedied this by using the forward pickup cover as a resting point, and not I just need to work on my muting technique a little more (that'll teach me for being lazy). Big sigh of relief. Panic over. So - I'm not quite getting the attack that I usually do using this technique, the extra inch or so forward of my usual position seems to affect it a fair bit, so for a more permanent remedy, I'm considering sorting out a ramp between the pick-ups. I'll probably get Jon to sort something out as he knows the bass best, and how to go about making one (maybe that matches). IN the meantime, I'm after a temporary solution - which is where you guys come in - any suggestions about how I'd go about this? Cheers chaps! Rich
22. The more the merrier! perhaps we should have a little Cambridge/ East Eangland get together, Dan's not too far away in Norwich, then there at least Mike in Witham that I know of in the area. Cheers Rich
Can I join too although I'm in Saffron Walden rather than Cambridge now??!! Mike
23. Absolutely mate - there's always room for more! ;-) Out of interest, anyone played The Taproom in St Ives? Got a gig there on the 30th, wondered what it was like...? Cheers, Rich
24. Cool! I tried one of these with a DB750 at The Bass Merchant. I was terrified. Honestly. It was like a thousand gods speaking all at once. And then Mike said: "Hang on, we haven't switched the deep button on....." Phenomenal. Scary stuff. Rich
