1. OK .. despite lots of Watchers (window-shoppers?) on ebay, this didn't sell. I have one possible post-ebay buyer (from EU) pending but would like to move this quickly ... if possible.
2. Hi Scott - not too bad, thanks: how are things with you (are you still in the hillside tce./Leeds) ?? Just borrowed a neighbours digital scales - reads: 9.1 lbs. It's due to end tomorrow on ebay (as usual, lots of Watchers ... 0-bids, as yet).
3. I have a very attractive trade/££ deal pending (close) on this, so it's effectively on-hold.
4. Now on ebay (about a week to run, from today)
5. Thanks for the bump / ++ comments Andy .. and delighted to hear you're now sorted on both items. Kinal(s) now on ebay, with a week to run:- [
6.
David- not sure about it not being common, more about none of them coming up for sale recently :-D Any chance you can do an old customer a deal? :-)
Ahh, I see ... + Always happier to do any deals here on BC rather than ebay. Drop me a PM if you're seriously keen. I've had a few questions on ebay (and 18 Watchers already) - but, from experience, that often leads to nothing.
7. Now on ebay Thanks for the comment(s) Mike - hadn't realised the CAR/RW combination wasn't so common.
8. Couple of TRADE queries - sorry, looking to sell only (unless you're offering a genuine Vintage Fender /P, MTD, Fodera, Alembic etc. - which obviously, you won't......)
9. I'll be ebaying this on Thursday (to end 14th June) but thought it might appeal here (amongst all the other Sadowsky's currently?!). This is an earlier Sadowsky Metro RV4 (although you wouldn't realise, to look at it) and is a really nice example: Metroline RV4 in Candy Apple Red/Rosewood Fingerboard, Alder Body, White (original/fitted) + T/shell Pickguard/s (both original Sadowsky's), Noise-Free Sadowsky Pickups, Vintage Tone Control is NOT Installed, Sadowsky fitted Case. Without the VTC it an active (Bass /Treble +/-) bass with passive mode (pull/pan) which works with just volume and pickup-pan. However.. the VTC is available from Sadowsky direct (at only $75, including all bits/diagram required) so could easily be retro-fitted. Has suffered only a couple of very minor marks/dings (couple to the body and one to the headstock-edge) and looks exceptional overall. Plays really nicely. Comes with the original Sadowsky fitted case - also in excellent condition. Now SOLD
10. Sorry .. no trades on this (these) - including family members (have enough problems with my own!!). Thanks for the Bump/comments JBW' - intrigued to know where you managed to try-out one of these?? I've just re-fettled/cleaned the fretted 5 .. it's such a pleasure to play. If I win this week's Lottery, I'll definitely just keep the pair (!).
11. Had some queries on 'specs.' so here they are: 35" scale; 1.75" (nut); 2.75" (F.24). String spacings is 9mm (nut), 15mm (F.24) and 17mm (bridge/adj.). Weight is only 8.8lbs (digi-scales).
12. Modified (as no longer a 'feeler') + BUMP'd to keep alongside the other (same) two listings.
13. Thanks S'W I've had quite a few queries on this and the fretted Kinal 5 (also for sale) - they're not so well known or generally available in the UK. I think they're another example of a small output / high quality, hand-made instrument where most owners have them custom ordered/built .. and tend to hang onto them. The design/build concept is very similar to MTD .. although this fretless is also much along the lines of the Pedulla 'Buzz' idea (and sound).
14.
Hey David. Good to see you again. Nice bass(es)! Shame I'm Left Handed Joined the forum as you suggested, and put my Lefty '84 Wal Custom up for folks to have a look at - check out the 'Left Handed Wal...' link below (somewhere...). You may care to show it to your American friend. Got more pix if you want 'em. Good luck selling these two beauties. Andy K.
Thanks Andy ... pleased you found it!! Did you manage to source the PJB as yet? I'll make further enquiries and send links re. the Wal - you might also want to try the US Forums I mentioned. There is (or was) a Wal specific Forum (Steve Chesney? .. also a LH'er) which I'll post here (if I can find it) or send to you via PM (check New Messages on the TRHC of the BassChat page)
15. Thanks Mark - always like to try something new/different ! Hope you're soon back in the bass playing (etc.) fraternity......
16. Custom-built Kinal MK5-B, 5 string fretless bass. Also has a 35” scale length, 5A curly maple top, ebony accent layer, and a matching curly maple headstock. The body has a very light and resonant swamp ash tone wood and is quite acoustically loud for a solid body bass. It is also light for a bass of this nature . The bolt on neck is figured maple with a high grade ebony fingerboard coated with boat epoxy and maple fret lines. This neck combination (very similar to the Pedulla 'Buzz' concept) really makes this bass 'sing'. All hardware & switches are Gold. The neck position (Gary) Willis playing ramp is removable but the small ramp between pickups 2 & 3 is not. The rear control cavity cover is wood and the side mounted jack is ebony inlaid and gold plated. All the screws in the control cavity and Willis ramp are inlaid nut inserts. The bass has a Bartolini NTMB-F preamp and 3 Bartolini humbucking pickups. The knobs are for volume, pan, treble, mids, bass. The switches are for preamp bypass, 3 position mid frequency centre switch and a pickup control switch for the pan knob. The pickup control switch works like this. In position #1, the bridge and middle pickup signals are sent to the pan pot to blend their outputs. In position #2, the bridge and neck pickups are blendable. And in Position #3, the middle and neck pickups are blendable. This is a unique feature that allows you to get all best fretless sounds with ultimate control. Excellent condition with minimal playing wear. There are no large dings on the instrument, and any other imperfections are very minor. I'd like to get £1499 o.n.o. for this (which was a custom build and has several unique features). As a guide, current USA (direct) prices would be about $2950. Comes with a gig-bag. ... also (previously) offered as a pair of Kinal Custom 5's (the fretted MK-5 is now sold) :- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry501911
17. Kinal MK-5: Mike Kinal (Canada) five string with a beautiful quilt maple top in an amber stain. Matching head stock (quilt/amber) with a very nice birds-eye maple cap to the rear. Alder body core. Ebony fingerboard on maple + five-piece neck with graphite reinforcement. 2 Aero jazz pickups with Bartolini preamp, 3EQ and 3-way midrange selector switch. Scale length is 35", 1&11/16" nut. String spacing is 9mm at the nut and 17mm at the bridge. Weight is 8 & 3/4 lbs. Great condition - the only significant 'ding' (no effect on playing) is a small (.5cm) to the side (only) of the ebony board, between frets 1 and 2 (below the G-string). This is one of the best constructed, 'all-purpose' basses I've ever played. Slaps well, is punchy for rock and can also produce more mellow tones It comes with a high-quality gig-bag £1100 .. also offered as a pair of fretted+fretless Kinal 5's :- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry501911
18. BUMP / reminder that these basses are still available. Had some (seemingly) serious trade/£ offers on the fretted bass, but these have gone nowhere .. so plan to sell separately - initially here, then I'll try on ebay. There was a lot on interest in the fretless bass when first posted - I'd be willing to sell that one (alone) now, as there seems to be lots more in the fretted bass in its own right. Both basses are exceptional and have the same quality of build, sound and playablity. They feel very similar - so do make an great pair: but it seems they're more likely to sell independently. Close offers invited on the intial post/pricing.
19.
I do like the look of the fretted I must say ;D
... there's been greater interest in the fretless TBH, possibly due to a fairly unique (and very effective) p/up + switches + EQ.. but the fretted bass is (also) exceptional. Thanks for the bump/comment & let me know if you're keen to pursue it !!
20. ... now inclusive of shipping (UK)...
21. .... some photos here (the one on the right - natural ash / maple?) :- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...;hl=custom+1970
22. Full dimemsions/weight are provided in the original listing .. obviously there's no point in including them if you don't bother to read them (?).
23. Currently on-hold/sold (buyer not certain it'll fit his bass .. so might be available again in the nr. future). Woody' - let me know if you're still interested and you can have first refusal if it comes back.
