1. Updated BUMP - marked those as SOLD and reduced prices on all others
2. PJB'case currently ON-HOLD.....
3.
I have the bass buddy preamp which is the same as built into this without the poweramp bit (the bass buddy can put out 10w, whereas this puts out 110w). Its probably the warmest bass preamp I've used. Its so warm and detailed that you hardly ever have to touch the five band eq, and the best bit is the compressor, which for a single knob solution is THE most musical compressor for bass guitar I've ever used (and believe me, I've used a few!). If I had £345 spare I'd be on this in a flash as this is just what I need for home practice. Have a bump on me!
Thanks JPJ for the ++ comments / bump and info. re. the pre/comp. - very helpful !!
4. Haven't got to use this as planned, so probably best to move it on .. if anybody's looking for an ultra small/high-end Combo. Virtually unplayed (home-only) and unmarked, still with original box/packaging, unopened-unused power lead and car-battery charger lead (there's no battery fitted, but these are available apparently), manual. One test I did do was to try the head section with some bigger 4-ohm speakers: it works! The tiny (Bass-Buddy) 100w head drives w/out problem (idea being to use with internals at-home and, if needed, bigger 4-ohms at venue). It's actually 110w @4ohms, 65@8 and 40@16 (according to the manual). TBC are currently offering at £439, BDirect @ £499 delivered. rrp is £549 Here's some PJB blurb: The BRIEFCASE is not your usual combo-practice amp. The most striking difference between this combo and others is that it features an extremely clean and powerful amplifier and full range compact speaker that can run on AC or DC power. It can accept voltages from 100 to 240 volts by using the voltage selector switch, can run on an internal lead acid gel battery (not supplied) or even an external 12V DC source such as a automotive starting battery. Though it is a dedicated bass amplifier, this unit will work ideally for other instruments, particularly acoustic variety due to its natural hi-fi sound character. This unit is also an ideal upright bass amplifier. The two 5 inch proprietary PJB drivers have been acoustically optimally loaded by precise computer analysis to provide a full-range, dynamic sound that can play down to an open E string with ease. The BRIEFCASE can handle an open B string if not too much bass boost is used. Specifications: SPEAKERS:2 high-power, full-range dedicated bass instrument loudspeakers in a computer-optimized, vented enclosure. POWER: 100W. WEIGHT: 28 lbs. DIMENSIONS: inch 6.5(W) x 14.5(D) x 15.75(H). INPUT: Active / Passive. FEATURES: Compressor/limiter, 5-Band EQ, Headphone out, Balanced-line out, Pre-amp out, Extension-speaker out. Ideal match for upright basses ... and some photos (below). I'll be sticking on ebay too, but intially looking for £345 (incl. Courier) / £328 (collect or own Courier)
5. Mostly ebayed for the coing w/end - so offers invited. Further apologies re. the Clapton set: I forgot about it again !! Will update with details/price asap.
6. All gone now. Ashdown sold last (on ebay)
7. Damn.. almost a deal concluded for the frtted 5, which would have made the FL5 available. So, still available. .. some more recent photos:-
8. Bacchus still avaiable (and on ebay) .. revived
9. Rockson WAH still here. £18 obo.
10. Lots (more) interest in the Fretless (less so in the fretted bass). Willing to let go for a sensible offer for the PAIR .. or if I can get a decent offer coinciding, independently, for each.
11. 1st Bump obo on any item.
12. Ashdown BASS Envelope Filter B.O. .....
13. Clearing stuff:- 1. Jazz style (Celinder) pickguard: this was fitted to my 'revised' Me'Shell bass before it was restored by Chris C. Would fit a Celinder or other custom / similar J's. £15 posted. 2. EB Sterling HS metal/CHROME pickguard. This is SOLID (and heavy). Beautifully made & finished: really adds something (including a few extra grammes!) to any HS Sterling bass. £25 posted. 3. New / unused Liberty Lead (need to check the length, unless it's mentioned on the photo). Decent quality/connections. £12 posted.
14. HIPSHOT BT1 detuner: mint condition. here's the range / applications:- http://www.basscentre.com/hipshot-d-tuners.html These are listed at £75 at TheB.C. but I'm sure I've seen them at £60 elsewhere. 3 (of 4) screws included (along with the postage) - one didn't align properly into existing holes and was put somewhere too-safe for safekeeping. Should be easy to match/replace (or to use existing screws on bass). £36 posted.
15. Confirmed taker for the Sadowsky (pp).
16. Thanks Sean. PM replied. Yes - spent some time enjoying the delights of Co. Kerry. Not far from Chris Larkins place (Castlegregory)
17. Thanks Mick - hope you're enjoying the fish (... it's Good Friday)
18. Sorry - I did attach the photos in a logical sequence, but they have come-up all assorted-like !!
19. Need to shift one as I only really need 1x J bass and also need the ££. The Sadowsky came via a trade and is a decent example of the Metro RV4: Metroline RV4 Olympic White/Rosewood Fingerboard, Alder Body, T/shell Pickguard, Noise-Free Sadowsky Pickups, Vintage Tone Control Installed, Sadowsky fitted Case. Has suffered some dings (see photos) but these are mostly on the bottom edge and back (nr. rear cover), plus one small chip. There are a couple of very minor ones on the top but, as you can see in the photos, the visisble part(s) of the bass & neck are just fine. Comes with the original Sadowsky fitted case - also good condition with minor scuffing on edge(s). £on-hold/sold (inclusive of delivery). The Bacchus I bought as a clone-replacement for my Me'shell Celinder whilst it was away. Specs are: Bacchus Woodline J - Classic; Alder body; Maple neck with vintage finish; Rosewood 22F board; HMC-JB-ALV Pickups; Vol + Vol + Tone; Tuners - Reverse action Gotoh GB11W; Bridge - Vintage, Spiral type. Comes with a gig bag. There's a bruise/ding (lacquer not broken) on the 'E' side of the neck, around F11. Not felt in play. Otherwise it's excellent (some minor marks on the bodu y, but so minor they're unable to photo). Really excellent Vintage feel, sound and typical of the Bacchus quality. Not seen another in this colour. £599 (incl.) If you want more photos, PM an email address. PayPal Payment would have to be 'Personal' (no charges) or +4%. Other payment methods also fine.
20. ONLY the Ashdown BASS Envelope Filter remains. Decent offer accepted prior to ebay relist (had about 20 watchers... why do they do that?)...
