1. oh year - there is the SPECIAL which has the neck pickup but only 1 output, and there is a cheaper still version too with just the P pickup. The neck is slimmer too. And a Japan only model with a piezo as the P pickup. Never seen one in the flesh.
2. There ahve been 3 proper ones - The Attitude; Attitude II; Attitude III I've had them all at some stage. The neck shapes are a little different - in fact the III neck was far bigger than the previous ones I had. Didn't like that one. Sounded great though. The RRP on the III was originally about £2500 but Yamaha couldn't sell them at that money so they reduced it to (I think) £1799, but looking at various sites like GAK and Bass Direct, the RRP is now back up to £2899 !! The green one he was seen most with is the II model. They come up used at £1000 or less. TorVic on here was selling one. Great basses, but IMHO the new III models are massively overpriced for what is essentially a Precision with a few extras. Be wary of weights too - my Mk1 was about 9lb and comfy, but my Mk3 was a whopping 12 lb and it killed my back. They vary a lot.
3. I've got a set on an active Fender Stu Hamm sig model. Sounds brilliant. Didn't like them at all on my Ray though, but I've since changed the pickups so I might try again.
4. Demeter clearest by far. But you'll need more money, alas.
5. If you like them, yes. No of you don't.
6. I had a pair of HD112 and a pair of CN112. I much preferred the CN so I've still got them. They sit wonderfully in a full band mix and never get boomy no matter how sh*te the room is. If a venue genuinely needs more low end, the PA can do it from the DI.
7. New demo up. http://youtu.be/-HtBMO8fqV8 This is going to cost me money.
8. Interesting. I got to just short of 14,000 http://onlinetonegenerator.com/hearingtest.html
9. Just me - back pack for cables mic etc. Full band - big wheeled flight case. Everything goes in it except instruments and amps.
10. Can the pants be worn and unwashed? Asking for a friend.
11. I once had someone on here actually DEMAND that I tell them what I sold an item for to someone else! My response was not polite.
12. I hope someone noticed the lost item compensation limits on their T&C, and that it was enough.
13.
He’s honestly not someone who’s been on my radar until purchasing this bass. I’d heard of him, of course, but had never taken the time to check out his playing. Seems very 'Jaco-ish'. I have a bunch of his tracks earmarked for listening to…
He likes to tell everyone who will listen that Jaco called him the best bass soloist in the world. I don't agree (I mean, where is the distortion? ), but he is very good and worth a listen.
14. Uriah Heep stuff - about half an hour. Bass part for "The Dambusters March" - about 3 months to get it perfect.
15. I like that a lot. And I really like it when pickups are spaced properly to give more variation in sound.
16. Seymours. Antiquity for vintage, Quarter Pounders for more modern chunkiness.
17.
Beautiful! Are you interested in any of my sale items? MESA cabs, MESA 400+, Epi Explorer Bass or Gibson RD 1977
I couldn't have lifted a 400+ even when I was 20! The only trade I would be interested in would be a Marshall JCM800 2203X reissue. Nothing else will do. (Unless anyone wants to do a straight swap for a Fodera, obviously )
18. I've just seen that Thomann have the newer non-Fender shape model at about £805, but without the matching headstock (£130 option), the ebony board (£145 option) and block inlays (£175 option), being about £1250 in total. (Option figures from Bass Direct site) That being said - price drop to £700 collected as I've spotted something shiny....
19. Stunning basses. I've had a TM5 and I'm selling a TT4 passive as I'm only playing 5 strings now. The Sandberg neck is far nicer to me - it's slim like a jazz but the fretboard radius is 14 inches, much flatter than a Fender. The neck only has a satin oil finish and is really fast. My TT4 has a far lower action than any Fender I've ever played Also recent build models come with Sandberg's own lightweight tuners so there isn't any neck dive. The TT4 passive sounds like a good jazz should, but with modern touches like the flatter board, 22 frets etc. The active ones have a sensible 2 band EQ that doesn't get silly. I suppose the only issue is that if you want something specific, like an ebony board, or block markers, matched headstock etc - those are optional extras, so you either have to make a specific order and wait about 8 months (or 18 months if you want a heavy relic) or hope you find a dealer with the exact spec you really want. Although I'm offloading my 4 string basses, if I ever wanted another P or J type I'd buy another Sandberg. Fender wouldn't get my money.
