    With a heavy heart, I put this masterpiece up for sale. Bought in the Autumn from Bass Direct, this is a very serious piece of kit that will be your forever bass. After 12 gigs, I realise that it's not mine. Having faffed and farted about for months, I was convinced it was right for me.... The bass was born 9th February 2011, (my birthday!) and spent the first 18 months not leaving the house. I then bought it and have looked after it very carefully!     Don't bother with cheapo looms with no name plastic jacks. This loom is from Soundslive and is their expensive (£120 rings a bell) 8 way 1.5m Insert Loom with Neutrik jacks all round. It's well labelled and seen VERY little use...in fact I'm not sure it's seen any use!     Supplied by Flightcase Warehouse. A 14U wheeled flightcase in good condition. The normal scratches you'd expect, but structurally A1. Gaffer tape used to secure plugs has removed a little paint on the inside floor.Four heavy duty wheels, (2 with brakes). 2 sprung handles on each side. Racks on front and back.     They are great basses. There is a clear difference as you move from Combustion to ABZ. Neck feel and quality of sound. They are very well made and the fan fret is not an issue at all. I came very close to buying one from Mark at Bass Direct...and then came the Roscoe!

    Few observations.....The expression 'pay peanuts get monkeys' works the other way round..."you play for peanuts and they treat you like a chimp". You'll know whether you can cut it as a wedding band...and people expect to pay four figures for a decent band. Indeed when we increased our fee deeper into four figure territory, we actually got more work. I think it also depends on you motivation to play and your level of service. If you offer a disco, a super light show and are willing to pitch up before the reception starts, then it's gotta be because you are doing it for the pennies. We will arrive at 7...spend and hour on set-up....have a few sherbets, eat the obligatory pig roast, do a couple of sets and get our arses to the nearest kebab shop. They always dance, we have a bloody good laugh and get the gig for the best man's wedding next year.
