  1. Yep i only use my comp as more a limiter than compression. It only just triggers when i hit the strings slightly harder or i add a bit more treble or bass on the actual bass. On normal playing with bass EQ running flat the led never triggers. Dave
  2. I've never actually been in it but played a few other venues in that area but it does pull in a decent audience with several well known acts playing there over the years. Dave
  3. If i had known i would have taken a run in to see you guys. Dave
  4. Oh yes that is nice indeed. Dave
  5. 100% appreciated. I look forward to the new ones you post. Such a varied list on the website too. Its an amazing collection. Dave
  6. Liking that bass altho not sold on the scratch plate but i'm guessing it fits the music you play. Pretty good pics there too. Dave
  7. I'm addicted to TV even tho i'm not particularly watching it i still have it on. I keep promising myself to switch it off. As you say most of it is s*** anyways and maybe just read more. I have books i bought years ago that i've still not read yet. I used to only read on holiday and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm also into model railways so that takes up more of my time these days. Dave
  8. Superb stuff and wish you all the very best with this new project. Dave
  9. WOW Rob you seem to be working 24hrs a day on these. Take a break and go have a wee coffee. Dave
  10. Great venue apart from the 3 flights of stairs. I'm due back in the summer with Glam band and might just use their backline to save a bit of lifting. It does have an amazing musical history based on the various posters on the walls. Dave
  11. Love the band name. 👍 Dave
  12. WOW that is so good. Gotta have a go at that altho i only have my 6 string fretless these days so that might be a bit of a struggle. When i hear John playing i just want to get another 4 string fretless. Superb playing. Many thanks for this one Rob. Dave
  13. Recently bought Fish first solo album Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors and State of Mind with John Giblin on bass might be a nice wee line to learn. Dave
  14. That's a very colourful and eye-catching bass. Dave
  15. What bass rig were you using Johno. ? Dave
  16. Ooohh that looks so good, Its a lot deeper than i expected but those high runs sounding so clear and deep. Prefer that to a WAL bass. Not sure why i thought it would sound WAL - ish but i have to admit i'm preferring that. Nice sounding band Jonathon. Liking that a lot. That even sounds slightly fretless at the end. I've now got GAS for one you rotten sod I'm def jealous but its been well worth the work involved. Dave
  17. Yep no problem Rob. Dave
  18. Sound of Contact is Phil Collins son Simon on drums and lead vocals and he's good. Arjen Lucassen has his own project band called Ayreon but its not really my taste but Lost in New Real is a concept album with 50% his own songs and 50% as covers by Floyd, Hawkwind and various other bands with his own unique take on it. Rutger Hauer did the narration on the album but i won't tell you anymore. I really like the lyrics on some of his songs. Dave
  19. That's who he reminded off. Cheers for that Mickey. Dave
  20. If looking for ideas have you heard of these bands :- Starcastle - from back in the 80's. Kind of Yes type sound but more commercial. Sound of Contact - Dimensionaut is one of my fav Prog albums. Arjen Lucassen - From the Lost In The New Real album my fav track is A Hundred & Sixty Four but few others on this that could be interesting for you as a prog fan too. Not trying to give you work there Rob. Was only if looking for other avenues and ideas altho i'm sure you already have plenty. Dave
  21. No complaints here Rob.
  22. I know the feeling. I'm getting to that stage too. Have to admit it does change your image. I'm that used to seeing you with long hair and cowboy style hat or as Gene Simmons. I guess we all have to grow up at some point in our lives. Dave
  23. Looks like a couple of good venues there. I see you've bitten the bullet and had a haircut by looks of it. Very smart looking @cetera. You suit that look too. Dave
  24. Jings not listened to that in a long time Rob. How good were Rush back then. Dave
  25. That's a good description as i think i have noted that too with some D Class amps altho my Mesa seems to be ok. Our drummer reckons its more down to your ears getting used to the tone that you don't notice it so much until you take a break and come back to it. As a night develops i find myself wanting tweak things a bit even tho the sound check and start of the gig itself sounded great. Not sure if its maybe down to drummer playing harder during the gig and others tweak their volumes to match whereas i tend to set my volume and leave it if possible but sometimes i do have to turn up a bit and all of a sudden my tone returns to normal. Its all very weird. I played thru a Hartke stack with an LH500 and 2off 15" cabs and i was very impressive with it. Really nice clear tone with a touch of growl that i really liked. Dave
