  1. Cheers for that i had no idea. Mork and Mindy was a cracking series. Robin Williams at his very best. Dave
  2. You're just stirring it Using a spurtle of course. Dave
  3. Of course we do.
  4. The classic porridge
  5. We are a poor people. We eat what we can find. Dave
  6. Only if you make the traditional porridge rather than the microwave type. Dave
  7. I stand corrected it wasn't Ted Danson from Cheers but a guy called Ted McGinley who looked very similar to Danson in the early days. Leather Tuscadero was her character. I remember it well. Tom Hanks also played a part in one episode when he was very young. Think he was trying to kill Fonzie for some reason. ? Robin Williams as Mork was also in it.
  8. Its what makes us Scots a hardy race. Scotts porridge oats is the traditional favourite over here but there are other makes nowadays. My Father in Law is 86 and has porridge every morning for breakfast. He makes it the old traditional way in a large pot but you now get the microwave porridge in different flavours too. Just add milk and pop in the microwave for 2-3mins and its pretty tasty and quick. I like a little cold milk on top once cooked. I enjoy porridge once or twice a week for breakie. It keeps the hunger away for most of the day too. Dave
  9. Get home at 1am and have a hot milky drink. We have Horlicks over here (kind of malt hot milky drink) not sure you get that in US but i normally have a coffee with milk and a biscuit and then bed within 15mins after the coffee. The caffeine takes 20-30mins to have an effect on you so get to sleep before it hits. You'll be right as rain the next day. Drink some Lucozade Sport in the morning with your porridge to give you a wee lift for the day. Dave
  10. Watched a clip from Happy Days yesterday where Sam from Cheers was in it as a young adult. Dave
  11. Great amps, my goto amp at the moment. Does what it says it will. Ampeg tone and loud. Never let me down in the 12mths i've owned it and i've done a fair amount of gigs with both Glam and punk bands. GLWTS sale. Dave
  12. Nice one, should be a good night then. Dave
  13. Confidence Daryl, you'll smash this one, its what you guys do. Dave
  14. I see a Mesa bass rig there too. Is that the WD800 and 215 cab ? How you finding it. Dave
  15. Not had a gig in ages. Rehearsal got cancelled at weekend too. Got a biker rally on Sat night tho but its a 4hr drive each way. Nightmare drive home but thankfully my wife is coming along and can share the driving. One of those gigs where the fee barely covers the fuel. Dave
  16. Star billing there Daryl. Nice one sir. Looks like a great venue and show. Dave
  17. TITG by any chance at end of Aug ? Dave
  18. Go on Mickey, ask the question. Its why we're all here, to find out what basses and amps other players are using. No interest in any other gear, just the bass gear and name of the band is always nice. When i post i start with both venue and band name and usually end with bass gear. Dave
  19. Gotta Getaway and Nobody's Hero by S.L.F for the punk band's next gig at a bike rally in Tomintoul next weekend. We were due to rehearse today but due to health issues had to cancel. Dave
  20. Bit poor with the drummer of 9yrs. Don't understand people that do that. No need for it unless a massive blow out over something but when there are gigs in the diary you should still offer to honour them until a replacement is found. Hopefully a full replacement can be found quickly. Dave
  21. Enjoying a wee revival of Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Had What's Next album on vinyl and bought a triple album CD incl LIVE, Tales of the Unexpected and What's Next. The guy is a terrific guitarist and the bass player is very impressive doing some really nice riffs for this kind of music. Here's a couple of tracks from it. Dave
  22. One of mates has a Led Zep tribute band that's been running quite a few years but approx 5-6yrs ago they went acoustic Led Zep bringing in a violin and 2 cello players with him on mainly acoustic guitars and singer. They also brought in a female backing singer and they've played the same theatre style venues they did as the full Led Zep tribute band. One of the cello players has the traditional wood cello and the other a carbon fibre type and they do definitely sound quite different. They cover the bass parts of the Zep songs on the cello's and do a fantastic job. The guy with carbon cello (think his first name is Callum) is a pure showman with long dreadlocks etc and he's extremely entertaining to watch. He changes from bow to plucking the cello with so much ease and both get their little solo spots. He has played the Albert Hall as part of an orchestra tribute to the legendary Jack Bruce. Have to say it opened up my eyes to cello players and their ability. He is also very good at doing ad-lib. Dave
  23. Here's a couple of oldies i came across this morning. Dave Scarlet Inside - rehearsal 2013 (Prog) Mind Sculpture - 2015 (Prog) Hot Love - 2016 (Glam covers)
  24. My Shergold twin neck as it was a one off custom build for me. Almost bought it back but when i mentioned i was the original owner it all went quiet. WAL even tho it had a dead spot i think on hindsight it may have been an easier fix than i thought but will never know. Aria SB1000 just a great bass with a fantastic tone. Fender 80's Jazz in mocha with maple neck. It was just great to play and a wonderful tone. Dave
  25. Pretty Vacant - Sex Pistols. Dave
