I was asked to go to that rally once few yrs back. As a biker rather than a musician of course. I had other plans that weekend and didn't go. Dave

I'm guessing it was to hide face wrinkles of course Daryl. (i saw that on "Everybody loves Raymond" show - not experience i have to say. 😂) Dave

I had one of those prescribed nasal sprays and ended up with severe uncontrollable nose bleeds and now won't use them. Bleeding was a constant stream rather than a drip and lasted up to 45mins at one point. Not a very nice condition. I know you can get a jab for it but not sure how good they are. Dave

Not so good. I only occasionally suffer from hay fever but i'm on daily anti-histamines for past 20yrs or so. Hopefully it'll be ok and you can enjoy the gig. Did get a tip from a guy that suffered badly was to rub some vaseline on inside of your nose to trap pollen. Not tried it but he swore by it. Dave

Take a large 18" cooling fan and position near you. I use one every gig with Glam band and it does keep you cooler. Dave

Nice one Daryl, this is more how it should be for you guys. Should be a fantastic experience. Keep us posted on how it goes. Dave

Not posted on here for a wee while now but i've been using my WB-100 for best part of this year so far and i'm loving the tone with my Sandberg VM4 thru both my Mesa SW210/115 rig and now with the Barefaced 212 cab i bought few mths back. It was originally bought as a stop gap until i managed to get my Mesa TT800 amp but tried the WB-100 again early this year and realised i just love a full valve amp. One of the reasons i stopped using it was that i was getting a bit more distortion than expected and found the overall volume was limited because of it. What i found was that it was my pick up height that was the issue on the VM4. I dropped it a touch and the level of distortion appears to have almost gone completely except when really digging in. This allowed me to get the WB-100 gain up at a bit more and the overall volume is now more than adequate even for larger 200 seat capacity venues with no PA support. At the moment with the BF 212 my settings are :- Gain @ 11-1 depending on how i feel on the night. Bass @ 11 Mid @ 2-3 Treble @ 11-1 Master @ 11 - 1 Dave

Do the Aguilar pick ups make a difference. ? Nice wee family going on there. I'd quite like another VM4 just for a change of colour. Dave

Superb bass pose start of 2nd song. Looks like a great night. Dave

I remember the post now Michael. Apologies for asking again. Dave

First off, well done getting the job with the new band. Nice to hear that and all the very best with it. That's a nice neat little bass rig. Would love to hear it. I'm a recent convert to Barefaced altho its pretty close to my Mesa cabs but a one cab fit with the BF 212 cab. Dave

Nice to see a Dingwall. Wish i had kept my NG2 5er. Would quite like a 4 string one tho. Curious what bass rig you were using there. ? Yes i'm a geek. 😂 Dave

Cheers Rob that's a nice tricky wee bass line going on there. I'll need to have a better listen with decent headphones to get this one. Dave

Transcription won't open Rob. Dave

Nice job. Dave

Nice one. Any pics ? Dave

Proper aged relic work. Many people pay extra for that kind of thing on basses. Yours was free apart from the work put into playing. Looks very nice, not that i play DB but i do appreciate the skills involved. Dave

Oh well, no chance of me getting in there then 😂 I'd be more comfortable at HD Museum venue. Dave

We put domed lights on top of our cabs to stop people putting drinks down. Dave

Looking good there Daryl. Another nice looking venue and a decent sized audience too. Did you get any free vino 😂🍷 Dave

We need evidence. Dave

Last night with Blockbustarz was in Camelon Juniors FC. First time in this venue and it was full. Small stage so both singers had to stand on floor in front of stage. Like most clubs folks want in early to get "their seat". People coming in 45mins before doors open which hindered us getting set up and doing a proper sound check but all was fine with it. You know you've had a great night when the bar staff shut the bar to get out on the dance floor for Shang-a-Lang near the end. Dancing from the start last night too and floor was relatively busy all night.. Feed back was incredible from so many people including the owner and the team that booked us and want us back again. Club shut the pool room to give us a decent sized changing room plus storage for all the cases and back up gear if required. Used the Sandberg VM4 into Shure wireless, Keeley bassist comp, Handbox WB-100 and Barefaced 212 cab and even tho i was standing close to the bass rig i could clearly hear the bass behind me. The Barefaced cab has surpassed my expectations. Few wee minor mistakes by us but only picked up by us. Mine was Ballroom Blitz where i just could not get that bass part in middle as if my plucking fingers couldn't move fast enough to keep up with drums. Not even a fast song but my head just wasn't working. That was 1st song second set so hopefully i'm fine next gig in 2 weeks. One huge bonus was that i adjusted my garage and put the Harley bike along the back wall allowing me to put the car straight in the garage after the gig and will empty it today. That will be how i do things from now on as it made life so much easier after a gig. Dave

Well done the new singer at her first full gig. We're also seeing numbers down in various venues and owners telling us they've put on free bands but still not busy. At least you guys had a decent audience so that's all good news. Think folks simply don't have the money to go out as much at moment. Dave

Sorry but without pics of the 4 young ladies in underwear then it never happened and you were dreaming while playing as we all do. 😂 Dave

Are the electric shows still a duo rather than a full band ? Just wondering how you create that fuller effect on the songs. I'm guessing some backing tracks ? Have to admit i do love the idea of the acoustic Goth songs. Mandocello sounds fantastic on the songs i've heard you use it. Its just so different from the norm we hear. Dave
