  1. Probably the best bass overdrive out there IMHO. GLWTS
  2. I'm constantly combining my pedals 😂
  3. I was playing around with overdrive order and put together this mini board. I'm kind of falling in love with stacking gain stages at the moment. The Morning Glory is a light overdrive, which works well for that crappy early 2000s indie sound (one band I play with does a lot of that kind of thing). Then the Plumes is a midrange distortion for something more full on. And they stack very nicely. The Octabvre and the Proton are ever present.
  4. Love the functionality and portability of that board 😍 how does the OC-2 sound coming after the filter? Would that not throw off the tracking?
  5. Is this still available?
  6. I'm selling my Vintera Mustang, bought new back in March and gigged 2-3 times plus some home use. It's in great condition apart from a tiny crack/imperfection in the paint at the neck joint (pictured). I've replaced the pickguard, added copper shielding, upgraded to a Nordstrand pickup, a Hipshot Xtender and darkened the fretboard with lemon oil. I will include the original pickguard (white pearloid) in the sale. You can also have the original pickup if you really want! Comes in a Fender gigbag and will be well packed. Includes postage to mainland UK only. All other locations at buyer's expense. Full mod details can found here. Selling as a friend has given me a great deal on a secondhand Nordstrand Acinonyx.
  7. Only a couple of small changes. I've swapped out the original Octabvre with the mk 3, and swapped the Morning Glory for the Darkglass Microtubes B3K (built by Spencer Doran of 3 Leaf Audio). After seeing some of the cabling on other people's boards, I've tidied that up a bit as well.
  8. Love these 😍 at that price it'll be gone in no time!
  9. All versions of the Octabvre are amazing IMHO, but they almost never come up second hand, and the mk3 is currently unavailable as Spencer Doran (mr 3leaf) was having some mental health issues and not building. He's starting to build again but there's no indication as to when anything will be available. The EHX POG is great as well, plus you get an octave up. Heard good things about the MXR bass octave deluxe too.
  10. That was where I ordered mine. I wonder if they sold more than they actually received? Spencer put an announcement on his website in June saying he is getting back into building pedals, but there hasn't been any update sinces. I'm holding out for a Doom 2.
  11. Mine was the 3 Leaf Audio Octabvre (mk 1). Until I got the Octabvre mk 3. The Malekko B:Assmaster fuzz pedal. Absolutely love it.
  12. If only my fusebox didn't need replaced 😭
  13. I don't even have enough for one at their current prices 😭
  14. Now I want a Stoneham... or a Matamp GT200 😆😭
  15. I ordered a Nordstrand NM4-V on Monday and it turned up today (thanks Bass Direct). Luckily a friend owns a studio down the road so I went down to use his soldering iron. It was a bit fiddly, the only issue was the screw holes in the actual pickups needed widening to fit the stock screws for adjusting the height. I didn't bother uploading a picture of it finished as it looks the same, however the Nordstrands have a hotter output, slightly more low end and high end (though that might just be the increase in volume). Overall I'm happy with them, and looking forward to trying them out in anger over the next few weeks.
  16. I had a BB Pre many years ago and you're right, it's an excellent drive pedal, I regret selling it 😭
  17. Three overdrives on one board?? Are you a guitar player?? 😆 Genuine question though, what's the difference between each one?
  18. Can't believe this is still here 😜
  19. Jealous of the 3 Leaf Audio complete set
  20. According to the Fender site they both have a C shape neck profile. I have both and just did an A/B, I'd say they are the same profile but the JMJ is fractions of a millimetre deeper at the edges, so slightly rounder. Firstly, congratulations on seeing the light 😉 I've never played a Squier Mustang but I imagine like most cheap basses a decent setup will work wonders. A cheaper alternative would be the Squire affinity bronco, they're only about £150 brand new, or there are a bunch of cheap short scale basses out there from Ibanez, Gretsch, Jackson and G&L. Secondhand MIJ Mustangs are going for crazy money these days, around £1200 😱
  21. Excellent bass! GLWTS!!
  22. I once played with a singer who asked us to slow the song down, which is fair enough. They then said it was too slow, and asked us to bump up the tempo a little bit... a little bit more... a little more... and we were back to the original tempo. They later asked the keyboard player to "come in earlier". He was a little miffed as he was playing what was on the recording but did as they asked. They then told him he still wasn't playing it right, so they had a quiet, in depth conversation, after which everything was fine (I didn't notice a difference). Later he explained that what they had meant by "come in earlier" was actually "use a different piano sound".
  23. I got bored today and found a spare thumb rest and screws in my music bits box, then I remembered I had a drill, so I drilled two holes and give the bass a thumb rest. Voila!
