1.
If you fancy either of the basses in my signature and fancy chucking £500 on top... You have a deal! :)

Otherwise... Bump for an AWESOME bit of kit (and Synth history!)
Unfortunately my spare :) cash is tied up elsewhere on the forum but thanks for the offer! Yes these are fantastic pedals, I have some interest so I'm hoping I don't have to resort to the 'bay.....

  2.
As the title says the much revered and hard to find 'studio reference' SWR Baby Blue 160w combo. Features the great Baby Blue preamp - with defeatable semi-parametric EQ and aural enhancer, speakers include 2 x8" drivers and 1x5" for the high end. This is the original version and sounds great. Ideal for small gigs or makes a quality home/studio practice amp. Excellent condition. £320 + £15 delivery or Doncaster collection. Pics to follow.
3. This is my spare rig but I'm selling to buy a new cab. As you can see there is a nice Trace head from the 90s era and a powerful 600watt Ashdown 4x8 cab (a recent purchase from the wonderous MB1). The Trace is a loud 130 watts RMS and has been professionally serviced including new smoothing caps. This was done via my local music shop and means the amp performs like a new one. The rig is perfect for small/medium venues and sounds fantastic with that great British Trace sound. I'm looking at 270 picked up.
Cheers (PS old shoes not included!) Amp 170 cab 100.

  4.
I was really hoping that the pole extended from within the pedals! :)

I wish I had some spare money just now, there's a few things on here now that I'd love (including these).
What like a radio antenna? That would be fantastic :) but sadly not its just an ordinary steel pole with a screw bit on the end, I never trusted it so I use a small keyboard stand to get it to operational ie waist level. Works for me. These are BIG pedals!

  5.
Hmmm - I still have the box. I'll look into it, but it might be tricky.

Whereabouts in the NW are you? If it's, say, Manchester I could meet you halfway. On the other hand if it's Carlisle that would be a bit of a trek for the two of us!
Sadly I'm the wrong end! Lancaster... have a look anyway and let me know cheers.

  6. I'm putting out a feeler to gain any interest on an original set of Moog Taurus II Bass pedals dating from around 1981. These pedals are fully working and fully analog with all the low end fattness associated with the Moog synth. The pedals are essentially a Moog Rogue specially tuned to the lower octaves and a set of Moog pedals (see pic), they are non midi of course! Purpose built for bass use and pretty rare in this condition. The module sits either on top of the pedals or on a (rather wobbly) metal pole screwed into the top of the unit. The pedals come with original PSU, connection cable, steel pole, carrying sling and custom made (incredibly heavy) flight case. There is also - incredibly - the original sales invoice, user manual and overlays with suggested settings! Prior to me owning the pedls they were owned by a Genesis tribute band as there are some settings on the overlays marked 'Squonk', 'Suppers Ready' etc. I've tried them and they are pretty authentic. They sound fantastic and are in good cosmetic condition showing minor gig wear, stickers have been placed on the pedals to help with the notes! Minor issues are damage to the screw-in section to the steel pole and the PSU jack is a little loose but works as it should. There is loads of info about these on the net, the Taurus II have often been seen as a poor second to the Taurus 1s - having played both I feel they have their own merits (haven't tried the Taurus 3s yet) and are equally valid. These pedals have incredible warmth and killer bass great for all kinds of music not just prog! I'm adding a stock picture and will upload some pics of the set for sale if there is any interest. Price wise I'd be looking at 750 ish. Obviously its difficult to gauge their worth as I guess they are a bit of a niche instrument. These are for pickup only as they are really and I mean really heavy.

  7. It looks original to me and I have owned several Grabber basses (still own a very early one). It may be a little later than 79 judging by the Schaller (I presume Gibson branded) tuners and the matching headstock. These basses tend to be fairly light weight but I'm unsure of the later era ones...a later G3s I owned was pretty hefty though. Grabber basses are fantastic and sound great in any rock/roots context but I don't think they are grabbing (sorry) the attention they deserve.
    Have a bump on me!

  8.
Did Ibanez do a 'faker with a neck toaster and grover copies? The ones I remember started off with the small chrome p/u, moving on to the big mudbucker and finally an accurate looking high gain copy. I think they all had Fender/Rick type tuners as well. Where's Jon when you need him? :)
I have seen Ibanez versions with toaster type PUs also Aria did one - 'Aria Diamond' perhaps it was from that factory? There are many variations on the theme the worst being Hondo II the best perhaps the Ibanez.

  9.
Judging by the tuners that looks to have been a Matsumoku made bass. Someone got a bargain!
I had an email 'conversation' with the seller, I warned him about my own experiences about the Rickenwaffe and advised him to give a BIN price, I think he might have thought I was trying to pull a fast one. :) anyway it sold for a lot less than I would've suggested! Funny how some of these reach auction end and others get pulled? You are right it has those Grover type 'wavy' tuners and is probably from the same factory that made the Ibanez bolt on type Rick - I think CMI were an importer's (rebadged) inhouse brand, if you look at the pic the logo is clearly a decal on the headstock rather than the TR cover. Sad to say I missed the last few moments of the auction......

  10.
Oh, the humanity!!
If you look at the pics he's posted and his comments he's evidently very proud of the 'reclining nude' etched into the woodwork with a soldering iron...he's even signed it! What a mess, I'd be interested to know what the Rickenwaffe will have to say about it!

  11.
Same person that's selling this one:

Yes that's an odd looking one to me, the headstock and decal don't look quite right as well as the other things people have mentioned. The '78 seems looks OK though....but heavy.

  12.
The seller also has a pretty f*cked 62 RI Foto Flame for sale which he describes as "a superb example". :)
Hi both basses are mine and in as you can see they are both very much open to offers! :) The Jazz was on here but no interest, the problem with the Jazz is just lacquer cracking the neck is lovely.
The Grabber could be a bit of fun for someone and was a 'speculative' ie cheeky BIN but again open to offers - if you read the ad it says that the neck/tuners are thrown in for free I just had it knocking around so it could be a good template for a new neck or stripped and refinished and used. I bought the body from the US and it cost me a few quid and quite a bit to import it, the other parts were from a defunct Grabber that somebody had taken a hatchet to....I was going to part the lot out but thought someone might fancy a challenge!
