  1. Peter Hook is saying that the neck profile is the same as his bb1200s.
  2. My Yamaha bb’s BB1024x - BB3000A - BB Peter Hook Signature - BB414
  3. My collection complete well for now anyway 😂
  4. A friend of mine is looking for a bb1100s if anyone is thinking of selling one?
  5. Totally agree the best gig bag I've ever used not cheap but worth the extra money IMO.
  6. I agree the bag is a little bit snug at the top but it does the job. Personally mine will probably never get used I have a Mono Vertigo gig bag that I use all the time.
  7. I always use this but if it doesn’t darken enough I mix it 50/50% with raw linseed oil if the board is really light.
  8. I always use this but if it doesn’t make it dark enough I mix it 50/50 with raw linseed oil.
  9. Just darkened the fretboard I think it looks better now it was a little bit light before.
  10. I think the new PH bass would of looked better with these knobs on. But I don't think you can get them anymore that's my only criticism so nothing really. I've been playing it again today it sounds fantastic in passive or active mode. I think a few of my basses are going to get very dusty.
  11. I don’t know but I’m sure someone on here will.
  12. Tony Kanal from No doubt a long time Yamaha user.
  13. On the font the Gig bag it has a small pocket at the top. And a large pocket at the bottom inside it’s black fur it also has a Velcro neck strap.
  14. Alder/Maple/Alder Body Construction The new BB features an Alder/Maple/Alder multi-laminated body construction. The hard maple center increases body stiffness and accentuates midrange to cut through the mix of a band, and allows a more uniform transmission of vibrations between the body and the maple neck for unparalleled resonance and sustain. (BB Pro, BB700 Series)
  15. I got a hand signed one from PMT for the same price as what guitar guitar are charging £1000.
  16. No that's not me he works for PMT he'd just done an interview with him in the store. The full hour and a half interview is on U tube.
  17. Thanks Peter Hook personally signed five at the PMT store in Salford and I was lucky enough to get one.
  18. Bass arrived this morning played it for a couple of hours and I love it. If you're looking to nail the Peter Hook sound and more this is the bass to do it just add a chorus pedal and your done.
  19. Just been watching U Tube and apparently Australia have only got five basses. Hopefully the majority of them will be coming to the uk.
  20. The answer is simple if you want a through neck bass don’t buy a new Yamaha. I have played a 734 and thought it played and sounded fantastic. The reverse p pickup was the biggest attraction for me buying the new one. I have a 80’s though neck Yamaha that I absolutely love and don’t think I will ever sell it.
  21. I think it’s probably the closest you’re going to get to the original 1200s sound wise.I was considering buying a 734 anyway so when this came up and me being a big Peter Hook fan I jumped at it. I know it’s not a through neck but Yamaha don’t even put through necks on there flagship bb 2024. Plus I think the cost would of been to expensive for Yamaha to do for one bass.
  22. Hi my bass is coming Monday.

      Hi Peter

I played 1200s a few years back and really liked the sound of it so I have recently been on the lookout for one. I think the new bass is a closest thing you will get to an original 1200s. Ironically one has just gone up for sale on Basschat but it’s got to much damage for me. Don’t get me wrong on some basses look great. I have a 68 fretless  the almost makes the Yamaha pristine. Did you manage to get one of the Hand signed peter hook basses? Is that you on the bike in you avatar if so is it a Suzuki b kink?

      Hiya Mick.

No I've not gone for a signed one. It isn't important to me and I believe the signature is screen printed anyway so not like a real original.

I can struggle with a lot of knocks on a bass. I always look after mine and the odd ding is inevitable but some basses seem to get neglected by my standards.

That's a Buell 1125 CR, Cadwell a few years back. I'm presently riding a R1200RS Beemer. Love it!

      Peter
