Hi Jassbass Makes a huge difference in tones available as the bass is passive by default. As I'm sure you know East pre amps are legendary . The one in my Warwick is one of the first of the latest versions with flat response option, even got a wiring diagram hand written by John as he had not got any printouts done at the time of purchase.Keep thinking I should keep her but just can't expect the Mrs to put up with my gear habit ,so something has to go. Have a bump on me. Just bought one and its great. Now become my go to bass after years of playing so called hi end bass's GLWTS
