it's a martin dc1xe its prob about 6 years old and it is a matte finish, if that helps?

can i use fretboard oil on the tops of acoustic guitars? mine has a little strumming rash?

Sorry to all you lovely db'ers but I meant acoustic guitar. I am playing a martin dc1xe with a Fishman pre in the guitar. Do cheap di's do the same as more expensive ones? At the minute I can't afford to buy a Phil Jones acoustic amp, which has a simple bass mid and treble control. But until then would a di be as good a purchase or buy a pre with the capability of a di, what are my options for those?

That GK rig would be nicer than any harley benton stuff in my opinion. Have you considered; Ampeg Pf series Hartke amps have pretty good reviews on here though you would be best buying secondhand imo as you can get some nice stuff for the money you are willing to spend!

This is great stuff! I love hearing others opinions on gear they've used. I can empathise with gaf over wanting to support a local-ish fella trying to make it. Someday I may get a super12 just to see, cause the midget was nice. I was comparing them with my mesa scout and even though I got the impression that the compact could handle more wattage the mesa just sounded nicer (fuller)

The DNA sounded lifeless, and the berg was the best out of the three. I tried to do a blind test as best I could to pick out my favourite to start. This is my opinion of course.
