1. Here is my 1997 Gibson Les Paul bass with EMG humbuckers. It's in immaculate condition and has hardly been used in the 3 years or so I've had it. Its previous owner had it from new and played it once a month in a church band (seriously!). It's currently strung with flats and has that true Gibson mahogany bodied growl, and it can sustain forever should you want it to. I tend to favour my 5 string Stingray for gigs, as this beauty is a bit too 'rocky' for the soul band I play in, so I thought I'd see what trades I'm offered. I'd be interested in a stingray (4 string), a nice American Jazz deluxe (4 or 5), a Marcus Miller 4/5 or WHY? Drop me a PM and let me know what you've got to trade. Cash-wise, for a straight sale, I would take 650. I live in Barnsley but work in Leeds. I'd be willing to travel and meet half way if it helps. I am very genuine and very reasonable! Cheers
 2. As promised , a few pics of my Warwick. There is the original Warwick gigbag with it too. As you can see, the bass is pristine and it is a joy to play, has a nice low action and sounds amazing. The finger marks around the neck pickup will disappear when it's next waxed (which I do regularly). I just don't use the bass much any more. Let me know what you think anyway. Cheers
 3.
Not something I'd particularly thought about. What are they like and do you have any pictures? I don't think I've even seen one, never mind played one. EDIT: Oh hang on - this http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=100097 ??
Yep, that's the one. I must admit that it's rather heavy with it having a mahogany body, but the neck is comfy to play (not as chunky as my 5 string warwick for example, but a touch thicker than my stringay5. Sounds wise, with the 2 EMG humbuckers it's at home playing rocky stuff, but can be toned down as required. Having said that, I do find it a touch too 'rocky' for the soul band I play in and it subsequently doesn't get used, hence why I'm looking to move it on. I had it strung with roundwounds, but it was just cutting through everything and dominating, so it's now got some flats on it which has tamed it a little bit! Also, with the powerful pickups and mahogany body, like a Les Paul should, it sustains for ages should you want it to! Cheers
 4.
I'm going to keep bumping this until I get bored
Any interest in a swap for my mint condition 1997 Gibson Les Paul 5 STRING bass (black, EMG humbuckers?) Cheers
 5. any trade offers? what you got?
 6. Thankyou so much for the info. A really interesting read. The carboot sale where I got it from, if I remember correctly, was in Doncaster, which is where Music Ground used to have a shop. If anyone DOES have an unwanted Hofner 500/6 body, I'd be interested in acquiring it. Cheers
 7. I've had this neck in my spare room for a few years now after picking it up at a carboot sale. Apart from a few small knocks and the obligatory laquer cracking, it's totally as new; the nut hasn't been cut, the neck heel has no screw holes, and obviously the frets and fingerboard have never seen a string. It's never been fitted to a bass, which begs the question how did it appear on a carboot sale?!?! Anyway, it says 'genuine Hofner original, made in Germany' on the back of the headstock. There is plastic edge binding on the edge of the 23 fret fingerboard....anyone got any idea what model it's for and / or what it's worth? Any info would be appreciated! Cheers
 8.
Possibly for trade is a 2006 Musicman Stingray in Teal with a black scratchplate and maple neck. Its been my main bass for the last 3 years but after recently purchasing a Jazz i've decided i prefer the jazz. The Musicman is in good condition, with a few scratches on the back and a little chip at the side (will get some pic's up soon). I've recently strung it with GHS Boomers which i think work best with this bass. It has a great growl to the sound and is just what you expect from a Stingray (Think Louis Johnson, Benard Edwards and Flea). As for trades, i want a 5 string Jazz type bass with active p'ups. I would be willing to put some cash towards it depending on the bass. PM any offers Ollie Ps. Pics should be up by sunday
Not a Jazz admittedly, but would you be interested in a swap for my 1997 Gibson Les Paul 5 string in black with EMG humbuckers? Cheers
 9.
Hi Gareth, I love Gibson bass's but I'm afraid only 4 stringers. Thanks anyway.
Noworries mate. Good luck with the deal; I could always just remove the low b string then it's only got 4! Cheers
 10.
I've had a bit of interest in this but nothing from my list so far. Bump.
Any interest in a trade for my 5 string Gibson Les Paul bass (black, EMG humbuckers)? Cheers

 12. Anyone? I like Red Bush tea the best by the way: or Earl Grey....
 13.
Wish you were a bit nearer pal, I'd have that and do you a complete Sunday roast dinner. Damn ! Good luck with the sale.
Thanks! I was down south last week too well, London, which is North to you I suppose Oh well. Thanks for the interest anyway mate. I do love Sunday dinners too Cheers
 14. Hartke HA200 4x10 cab. 240 watts. 4 ohm. Used but very sturdy, well built and solid. Absolutely no issues with it at all. Only moving on as I don't use it (don't use anything since my very recent band split...soul/blues bass player needed in South/West Yorkshire anyone?!?!) and I could do with the floor space. £65 or trade for a nice 12 string g**tar (sorry) I live in Barnsley but work in Leeds. Local delivery (not taking the mick) would be no problem for a cup of tea and a shortbread biscuit. Or even a fig roll. Or a custard cream. None of those dark brown bourbon things though. Yuk. Cheers
 15. Bump - any trade offers at all?
 16.
if i were you id probably look at lowering your price a little, i sold my ashdown combo 4x10 300w for 200 on here and had loads of interest straight away.
Advice taken, bump for lower price...it really is close to mint condition. Pictures on request as I have been busy at work and havent got round to taking them!
 17.
I got this case with my American Fender Jazz and to be honest, its really too big to get to gigs as my band doesn't have a van yet. I am looking to trade it for one of those hard cases which fit to the bass, you know what i mean right? I was also like to add the cheapest i could find these was £130 from Dolphin Music So i would like something in the similar price range, i also live in West Bromwich, West Midlands.
I have got a a Fender case like the one you're after; It's currently got my Stingray sitting in it, but it's specifically moulded for a P/J (the velvety lining is moulded for the contours of the body). It has a little flip up pocket in it too, like most cases. I've had it about 2 years, so it's not new, and there are a couple of light scuffs on it as you can see in the pictures, but it's a good solid case and isn;t particularly heavy. It has 4 catches, 3 hinges, and on the bottom (where the hinge is), there are 4 rounded polished metal 'feet' to stand the case on if you get what I mean. You can see on the pics anyway. I'd prefer my Stingray in an oblong case, as it's easier for loading into our band's van as the guitarist has oblong cases for his axes too, so let me know if you're interested in a swap. I am in Yorkshire (Barnsley) by the way by the way. Cheers
