3. Well last week I sold my mag300 4x10 combo for 230 and it was in mint condition with no issues. Seeing as yours is a slightly higher power rating, and is a 15", with the crackling issues, I'd put it at maybe 130/150? Cheers
4. I'll have that off you mate. Thankyou very much. My missus works at Yorkshire bank so I'll get her to do a bank transfer tomorrow if you supply me with you account details and sort code or whatever it is you need. Send me them in a PM. I can always use paypal if you prefer? I'd send you 11 quid to cover your fees? Cheers
5.
Hi all I'm after a schematic for the above. In particular the power amp. Any help very much appreciated as its completly fried, or if anyones fixed one of these before are there any common problems to look for other than the chared remains of the output IC's? Cheers Just
Stating the obvious really, but have you tried getting in touch with Ashdown? A few years ago, a 15" driver I had gave up the ghost so I contacted them and they were very obliging....they sorted it out, collecting the knackered one from me and sending a replacement, so I can't see a schematic drawing being a big issue for them. It might be worth an email... Cheers
6. OK, I've listed a few items on the old ebay to take advantage of their free listings weekend. I'd rather the stuff go to fellow BC'ers, so if there's anything you fancy give me a shout and I will de-list it. First up: Ampeg B2R head and 410HLF cab: (£550) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT Hartke HA200 4x10 cab (£65) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT Marshall Valvestate guitar (sorry) combo amp: (£75) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT Old Carlsbro PA/guitar/bass head (£30) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT NON-working Laney Theatre 150 PA head: (£20?) 7. Yes mate. I still have it. I've had a few trade offers, but nothing that's taken my fancy as yet. Bump to the top! Chers
8. We did a string swap before Christmas. Not just one string....a full set, you get me yea? Sound guy.
9. Here is my 1997 Gibson Les Paul bass with EMG humbuckers. It's in immaculate condition and has hardly been used in the 3 years or so I've had it. Its previous owner had it from new and played it once a month in a church band (seriously!). It's currently strung with flats and has that true Gibson mahogany bodied growl, and it can sustain forever should you want it to. I tend to favour my 5 string Stingray for gigs, as this beauty is a bit too 'rocky' for the soul band I play in, so I thought I'd see what trades I'm offered. I'd be interested in a stingray (4 string), a nice American Jazz deluxe (4 or 5), a Marcus Miller 4/5 or WHY? Drop me a PM and let me know what you've got to trade. Cash-wise, for a straight sale, I would take 650. I live in Barnsley but work in Leeds. I'd be willing to travel and meet half way if it helps. I am very genuine and very reasonable! Cheers
10. As promised , a few pics of my Warwick. There is the original Warwick gigbag with it too. As you can see, the bass is pristine and it is a joy to play, has a nice low action and sounds amazing. The finger marks around the neck pickup will disappear when it's next waxed (which I do regularly). I just don't use the bass much any more. Let me know what you think anyway. Cheers
11.
Not something I'd particularly thought about. What are they like and do you have any pictures? I don't think I've even seen one, never mind played one. EDIT: Oh hang on - this http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=100097 ??
Yep, that's the one. I must admit that it's rather heavy with it having a mahogany body, but the neck is comfy to play (not as chunky as my 5 string warwick for example, but a touch thicker than my stringay5. Sounds wise, with the 2 EMG humbuckers it's at home playing rocky stuff, but can be toned down as required. Having said that, I do find it a touch too 'rocky' for the soul band I play in and it subsequently doesn't get used, hence why I'm looking to move it on. I had it strung with roundwounds, but it was just cutting through everything and dominating, so it's now got some flats on it which has tamed it a little bit! Also, with the powerful pickups and mahogany body, like a Les Paul should, it sustains for ages should you want it to! Cheers
12.
I'm going to keep bumping this until I get bored
Any interest in a swap for my mint condition 1997 Gibson Les Paul 5 STRING bass (black, EMG humbuckers?) Cheers
13. Thankyou so much for the info. A really interesting read. The carboot sale where I got it from, if I remember correctly, was in Doncaster, which is where Music Ground used to have a shop. If anyone DOES have an unwanted Hofner 500/6 body, I'd be interested in acquiring it. Cheers
