3. First Bass Owned: Yamaha RBX800a (still got it and it's amazing) 'Go To' Bass: Stingray5 'Your' Bass: Stingray...any will do
4. Any pics of it? And, excuse my DB ignorance, but is it a full size insrument? I'm an electric bass player but I've ALWAYS fancied a go at double bass. Cheers
5. PMd too
I've decided I'm not a jazz bass man which is a shame because this bass is beautiful and hardly used. There are a couple of areas of minor damage which are not very noticeable and purely cosmetic. Lacquer damage near each strap holder as pictured. I am looking for £1200 but would be willing to exchange/part exchange for a Warwick or a Spector. I'm in Stockport, Manchester.
6. PM'd
Hi All, so my new unused schaller is in the for sale section as I'm a Kent Armstrong chappy these days but I'm just about to throw the old one away unless anyone wants it? Comes complete with horrible loose connection farty noise as standard but maybe someone can either fix it or have some use for it for spares or something? Let me know and i'll put it in t'post for you thanks Bob
7. if you'd be willing to post, id pay you what it costs, plus a few quid for a drink to show my appreciation for your efforts. Cheers
8. is there a case with the bass? And is there any chance of pics of the damaged bit where it's been filled? Cheers
9. I'd say yes, give it another little tweak...you can't really hurt anything if it's gradual. The neck on my SR5 hasn't been touched in about 3 years and it is still give me a low fast action and I use it for probably 3 or 4 hours a week....having said that, I'm going to clean it later today after last night's rehearsal, and I might just give the wheel a tweak and see if it will go down a bit more. I like to tweak! And yes, the wheel thingy is fantastic Cheers
10. A little more zingy, yes, but f you want the zing, get the thing! (roundwounds!) Cheers
Would chrome flats be the opposite, more zingy, you see I have only used round's............................Pete.
11. It'd make it sound slightly muted, like old strings with a bit of a woody thump. I've got a set on my Status Groove. They sound great for playing soul/motown stuff (which i do), so dont expect any zing or twang...horses for courses really; just depends what kinda stuff you play. Cheers
Hi all, Any ideas what Rotosound black flat wounds would sound like on a Epi EB3?
12. **SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD** OK guys and gals, here for 4 hours only (I've got a buyer for it tonight) is my 2001 Warwick Corvette 5 string bubinga bass. It is absolutely immaculate and as new. Not a mark on it anywhere. It's the passive version. It has a really low action, that warwick growl and plays like a dream...I just have too many 5 string basses, so am looking to trade for an equally immaculate (ie mint condition) 4 string bubinga corvette/thumb, a Stingray, Sterling, or something of equal value of a similar ilk. OR CASH SALE 550 I cannot stress how pristine this instrument is, and I know it's a cliche, but the pictures do not do it justice at all...and it hasn't been polished for about 2 months,,,,it comes up EVEN NICER when waxed. Original Warwick gigbag with it too..... http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww304/frankydiver/013.jpg http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww304/frankydiver/012.jpg http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww304/frankydiver/011.jpg http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww304/frankydiver/010.jpg http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww304/frankydiver/008.jpg
13. are the straplocks you metion and the hardcase in the picture included?
14. There's Electro Music on Copley Rd in Doncaster. It's a bit pricey if you ask me, but usually has one or 2 nice instrumens in as well as the usual standard lines. The shop has more of those 6 stringed thinly strung things (I think they are called 'guitars') than anything else, but the bass room is upstairs What are you after, just out of interest?
15. It's passive, not active, so I reckon it's about right at 480. I'll actually miss it, but I do have quite a few other basses to go at (see below!), and 3 outings in a year (and actually gigged it just once I think) isn't right is it? Cheers gentlemen.
16. Cheers gents. I've let him have it for 480....I haven't used it more than about 3 tmes in the last 12 months, so it's time to move it on I think.
17. sorry lads, late reply...been to the pub. It's a 2001 I think. Poss 2002 or 2000,,,,need to check the SN! But what's it worth......I've provisionally sold it I think so I wanna make sure I've got a good price AND not ripped him off. Cheers
18. My black 1977 Guild B-301 fretless is still available, and I'm local! Cheers
