They just seem weak / no punch compaired to my shuker basses that are passive .The bar is a Roland GR55 pick up .

looking for recommendations for a good PJ set passive or active ( I've never had active before ).

I bought it several years ago on hear ,I think it's double sided tape , I've upgraded the bridge & tuners & I'm considering upgrading the pick ups as they seem a bit weak compared to my other passive basses .

Is there anyway of telling what model these are ,They are passive .

In natural light it looks pretty solid black & to my eyes looks really nice you can hardly see that finish , The P models are passive .

Balance is spot on . It came with a very low action , it's got a really fast neck ..It's my first ever 5 string I'll just have to see how I get on , I wish they had a 4 string in the same colour .as I could see than becoming my main bass .

Lodestone from Ashdown , lovely bass very close to a TBass ,at a silly price £425 for a £2k bass .they still have a few left ,

I've never had an active bass before , I've just snapped up a Lodestone 5 string from Ashdown ..these were £1800 .there is about 4 left on their site for £425 ..They bought them out before the T bass , I'd really recommend getting one ….anyway how long are these batteries likely to last & do they suddenly cut out or do you get some sort of warning when they are on the way out ? cheers .

I hardly ever play finger style , mainly plectrum .

I've got a Shuker with a low F# tried to do some chapman stick stuff on it , It's been up for sale for ages in a mainland music shop .

I've only ever played 4 String , But I've seen a bass I've wanted for a long time ,the only thing is that it's a 5 string version It's going for a silly price So would I be able to play it the same as my 4 string & just ignore the 5th string or does it interfere with technique ? Has anyone had this experience ...I really wouldn't give it a second look but It's such a good price ?

I've got the retroglide , It's a great amp ….The 550 will have the amp section from the RM500 according to Mark.
