This arrived today and is really nice. Think I may have an emergent problem though:

I’m happy to be the first to post feedback for @GrandafatherGroove. After a tip-off from @krispn, Lewis contacted me about my wanted ad for a Shift Line Olympic MKIIIS. As Lewis is a new member and needed payment via bank transfer, I asked if he’d be OK to let my feedback speak for me and agree to send me the pedal on a payment-upon-receipt basis, or half up front and half upon receipt. Lewis kindly placed his trust in me and sent me the pedal with the agreement that I’d pay him the full amount upon receipt. I’m happy to report that all went smoothly with the pedal being in excellent condition as described. Pedal was suitably packed and posted quickly. All communication was clear, prompt and friendly. Finally managed to get round to posting this. So happy to have one of these again.

Based on the Korg MS-20 filter these are great. Only reason I moved mine on is the inability for all parameters to be stored as preset data (frustratingly some key ones aren’t included). Wonder if you have mine (mine has an personalised thankyou note from Ryan inside the baseplate). Well worth adjusting the resonance trimpot if you haven’t done so as you can get those cool disco-style self-oscillating bloops.

I’m more than happy to reciprocate with loans of a few interesting pedals I have or to cover all postage in the case that I have nothing that interests you. I have already had some great experiences doing this from a couple of very kind BC members. I bought Leon’s BassRig ‘64 last weekend. All details were sorted quickly, communication was great, pedal was posted out on the arranged day with the tracking. Pedal arrived well-packed and in the described condition. It sounds lovely. I’d happily transact again. Many thanks.

And as if that weren’t bad enough, I spent a night in A&E with him last night after he flipped out and I had to call police and ambulance to assist.

Definitely not, he’s violent enough as is (and I'm not joking, he’s seriously hurt me a few times in the last few months and I’m desperately trying to get help with him).

That would likely end in disaster. For an illustration of what I’m working with, I told him to take it in from the back doorstep, to which he genuinely (and not not the first time in recent history) asked, “which one is the back door?” 🤦🏻‍♂️

Teenage door-answering ineptitude means I now won’t get the BassRig until Saturday. A similar fate almost befell the Octabvre MKII I managed to snag but fortunately UPS left it on the doorstep and I was able to ring said teenager as soon as I got the email notification so it could be brought into safety. There may be a board photo tonight.

Nice to see Origin continuing to check in on the parallel thread I created on Talkbass for this. Basically acknowledging the desire but letting us know it takes about two years to develop these products once they start. Let’s hope the next project they start is this.

I’ll hopefully be getting to borrow one of these soon when I have a bit more time to spend with it.
