1.
I've got a Superfly which I'm running into a homebrew 2x10". I've wired two jack sockets on the cab so that I can either run into one socket and have the speakers in parallel at 4 ohms, or run a separate channel into each of the 8 ohm speakers.
Is there much difference in volume - comparing 2x8ohm to 1x4ohm? As 8ohm cabs seem to be cheaper...not to mention more futureproof.
2. http://www.musik-produktiv.co.uk/eden-neme...p210-4-ohm.aspx Website looks a bit, erm eastern block... Just wondered if these prices are too good to be true? This is £350 at the gallery...
3. Right, I'm still a bit confused so i'll give you more details: The cab in question is a GK Neo 112. The cheapest I can find it in the UK is £309 from Soundslive. The cab from Switzerland is on ebay (new) at £232. Shipping is £40... So, would the price in Switzerland include Swiss tax?
4. I've got the chance of a cab from Switzerland that works out about £40 cheaper after adding postage. Does anyone know what the local Swiss tax is? I seem to recall 23%, which would make it even cheaper. I've bought things from Thomann (Germany) before, but they work out the VAT in the prices... Am I right in thinking that because it's coming from Europe, there are no customs charges?
5. Here for sale is the Stew Mac book 'Refishing Guitars' in immaculate condition. Talks you through everystep of refinishing a guitar from sanding to actual painting. Discusses loads of techniques and tools. Really really useful book. Selling as I'm a numpty, and don't possess the dexterity to fit a scratchplate, nevermind refinishing a guitar!! Looking for £18 posted, which considering I had to pay duty is a lot cheaper than it cost me...2 weeks ago...
6.
Hi, Is it a lined or unlined neck? Nik
Hi, It's lined. James
7. Boss Compressor CS3, Boss limiter/Exciter LMB3 I've had these two a while, but aren't using them. So in order to fund some amp GAS, they need to go. Excellent condition/boxed. Looking for £30 each plus postage. Peavey 115TVX 4Ohm Cab Amp GAS has hit!! Immaculate, bedroom use only (so it's never been pushed hard). No damage to the corners, in fact it could be sitting in a shop looking brand new...it's only about 7 months old Offers Obviously I can't post it, but can deliver for fuel to Sheffield/Manchester/Leeds & Yorkshire (I live in Hull).
8. I need to sell this to fund some amp GAS... I'm sad to see it go, but I don't play guitar at all, so three six stringers is a bit excessive...It's a 15/16ths size - meaning it's slightly smaller than a full size acoustic and perfect for slightly smaller hands (don't let that put you off, this isn't a toy guitar). Have a look around the net for just how well regarded these acoustics are. It was bought new in 2002, and hasn't left the house since purchase. I played six Big Babies before picking this one, best tone by far out of the batch I played!. Comes with a new set of long life strings/Taylor gigbag/warranty card/hang tags (if I can find them!). The marks in the photo are natural swirls in the wood - there is no damage to this guitar I have really looked after this guitar. If you are local, come around and try it!! I REALLY don't want to post this - but could meet in Sheffield/Leeds/Manchester/Yorkshire for some fuel contributions!! Looking for £200 or why??
9. Pictures to follow tonight. Here for sale is my SX Photoflame precision fretless. I've only had it a couple of weeks, but fretless isn't for me It's unmarked (the lines in one of the pictures is just the lighting), and has a new set of D'addario Chrome Flats on it (cost £26). I've done a basic setup (I'm no technical whizz, but it plays a lot better than when it arrived from the US) Looking for £100 which I think is reasonable (bass cost me £140, £26 strings). Rondo have ran out of stock, so you can't buy this new at the moment... I'll deliver to Manchester/Sheffield/ Yorkshire area for fuel costs - or meet half way?. You are welcome to view/try - I live just outside Hull, East Yorkshire Postage is extra, and will be £12 - can post in original box.
10.
+1. Ashdown make a Neo cab which is a single cabinet with 4x 8 speakers in. They are wired in separate pairs (ie two sets of two). The cab has two inputs, esp for use with the SF amp. Its effectively two 2x 8 cabs but in one box. About £400 IIRC.
Cheers Neil - I think Ashdown have already discontinued them..and was thinking long term, when I upgrade to a better head, would the Superfly cabs be suitable? On the soundcontrol website are a few Superfly specific cabs, but all I was wondering was if I buy two cabs (and spend around £800) is it going to sound as good as any other £1k rig? As the Superfly is really my first ever head, I've always thought of it as being a bit budget (but capable...). Am I way off?
11. Hi guys, I currently own a Superfly and am looking to upgrade the rig slowly (ie cabs first). The Superfly is 2x250watts at 4ohms. Is there any way for me to run both inputs to one cab? I fancy a 1x12 cab for portability (or maybe 2x12 - GK Neos are on my list...), but what I am looking at is 8ohms and I have a feeling it wont be loud enough. I can't really afford to buy a new amp at the same time... FWIW the amp is currently running into a 115 Peavey (which sounds good, but way too heavy). Obviously running just one side of the amp. PS sorry for the barrage of posts in this section
12. Is there anywhere north of London which stocks quite a lot of boutique bass amp gear? Think I need to go and try a few, and also feel the weight... As a slight side note, do any of these come in 4Ohm - I was hoping to use with my Superfly head for now...
13.
ive got a superfly amp with a 2x8 and the 1x15 superfly cabs and im very pleased with them very powerful with my kingbass black beauty. be interesting to know if anybody else has also used these cabs !! Andy
Can you give us a review of them? What made you go for the 2x8 instead of the 2x10? Was thinking of going for a 2x10 and a 1x15. Is one cab loud enough to rehearse with? Are the cabs really as light as they claim? I seem to remember the Superfly weight specs being a tad optimistic
14.
and EBS and Genz Benz and EA. There are lots of lightweight options.
Yes that is true - but are any as light as the markbass 2x10 traveler? Plus, the oher problem is that very few stores stock the gear (anywhere in Yorkshire I should look?). Was hoping to get two cabs for about £800 (ie two Markbass 2x10 travelers)
15. Am I right in assuming that the bulk of the weight with cabs is the speakers? If so, what's to stop me replacing my current speaker with a lightweight neo speaker? I've currently got a Peavey 1x15 which needs to SERIOUSLY go on a diet. I've seen speakers on ebay for around £100. Is it worth doing? Just trying to avoid the inevitable Markbass finance option
16. Does anyone know of any plans on the net for a 2x10 or 2x12?
17.
Would you split? I may be interested in the cabs. Just waiting on a reply from a fellow BC'r first regarding an Ashdown cab, but he seems to have disappeared...
...depending on wether Jono wants the cabs, I might be interested in them too...
18.
Body looks familiar!!!!
Yeah I think we bought them at about the same time...I've put the maple neck onto a LPB SX Jazz... I think I emailed you on basschat about the scratchplate...
19. ...didn't sell on ebay, so offers or swap for bass gear (could do a deal with this and my strat or immaculate taylor acoustic for a Jazz - Highway 1/Geddy/US ??)
20.
Three flat top Precision bass style chrome knobs. Used but look to be in very good condition. £15 posted?
Have you got a picture?
21. I'm trying to find a Geddy Lee Jazz to try, as I daren't buy one without trying the neck. Anyone got one in Yorkshire that would let me have a play?
22. SX Jazz Neck from a '62 Body with SX neck plate. This neck is immaculate, having never been used. Blue headstock. Looking for £35 plus postage.
23.
Still for sale - this has to go £100 delivered or will swap/part ex for bass gear
Now on ebay : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Digitech-RP7-Guitar-...1QQcmdZViewItem Will do it for £80 to anyone off here
