And sent it Parcel Post? Wow, risky..... You get to play at work? So does it sound like an ordinary SX jazz?
Yup Parcel Post...erm think the £20 postage was a little steep Yeah I can play for as long as I want (usually play for about an hour/hour and a half - bass playing is just a bit of fun). I could probably play for about 5 hours a day at work if I wanted - the clue is in my username, if you want to know what I do Don't know how it sounds - my 15month old toddler has already tried smearing it with Apricot jam. I have NEVER seen such a dry fretboard - fed/cleaned it with some lemon oil and its looking a lot better. The strings look orginal too (practically unplayed). -
You can slow down tracks in Windows Media player so you dont really even need to download any software just to do the basic things. Personally i use IK Multimedia's AmpegSVX software on my Pc most of the time. You can also load in mp3's and slow them down and loop them etc. Of course, its not free but its a very nice app. great for recording as well.
Cheers - just seen the price ofthe Ampeg software...think i'll have to have a think on that one
That's a friend of mine selling that, sold and bought things from him before too, so it should be decent.
It's arrived and isn't in bad condition for the price. Weirdest way I've ever seen of packing a bass - he stuck the label onto the gigbag, and taped a bit of bubble wrap around the headstock Surprisingly its fine - neck feels similar to an SX 62 Jazz, but slightly more closed...will do for leaving at work... -
Decided I couldn't live with the yellow/off white standard SX Jazz, so bought a new bass in LPB, and flogged the neck. Fitted Hipshot Ultralites, deglossed the back of the neck, quick fill and varnish of the old tuner holes, fret dress, fitted a Gotoh bridge and strung with DR Sunbeams... So much for this being my beater bass, it's now of equal playability to my Fender P body/J neck...so I had to go and buy a beater SX Scorpion off ebay, oh and I fancy a sunburst Jazz too (damn you, Neil )

Swapped a P Fretless with him for his Behringer vamp pro plus cash. Fantastic guy to deal with - item in top notch condition. Very easy transaction. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him (don't know about the iffy Fender hat )
I'd agree with the above, however i think with it being 6u it'll not make much difference, its gonna be a big heavy bugger either way!
Not that heavy!! Superfly is 2u, wireless takes up 1u, Behringer V Amp pro takes up 2u, leaving 1u for a tuner (I'm going to put the wireless above the superfly, so it will get plenty of ventilation.)

I'm selling off all my pedals, as I'm going to rack gear for ease. Boss: Compressor/Sustainer CS3, Chorus SOLD, Limiter/Enhancer LMB3. SOLD Behringer Bass Driver (like sansamp, only cheaper!!). I've bought the rack version, so this isn't needed. As brand new £15 delivered. Will swap/part ex for Rack tuner (Korg/Fender or equivalent), 4 ohm lightweight cabs or try me!! Can anyone interested email me: JLElvin (AT) googlemail (DOT) com as I'll get the messages instantly.
is it emg for sure? is it perfect working? i know it is passive but do you know if that has a strong signal? want to buy a replacement for pickup in my squier affinity I bought as a project. cheers
Hi, it's definately EMG - says 'Select by EMG' on the back. -
Sorry should have read your first post again before posting - the hazards of dropping into a thread at the latest post... Unfortunately I'm using mine. Might be worth getting in touch with Ashdown and begging?
Cheers, I'll try that

I'm trying to decide between getting a rackbag, or getting a hard case. I don't gig (yet...) so will just be for rehearsal. Obviously the hard case will look after the equipment a bit better - but its not like it will be thrown in the back of a van, so does it matter? FWIW I'm looking at an LD Systems bag or a Gator shallow case both in a 6u size.
-
I'm about to rack my gear (including a Superfly head) - is it better to leave a 1u gap directly above it, or isn't it needed? Could also do with some advice on the order. I have a 2u Preamp,Superfly head and a 1/2u wireless system. Thinking of adding a tuner at a later date too. What would be the best way of stacking/sorting them? I'm new to this rack lark
Doesn't the Superfly come with full-width rack ears? Mine did.
Do you want to sell me yours
I threw the rack ears out, yeah I'm a tit
Thanks for that - it looks like weight wise I can get away with mounting both on a shelf
-
I'm selling this as I've done a trade for a V amp pro It's as brand new, and is supposedly reverse engineered to sound like the Sansamp bass driver pedal. Sounds pretty good to me, be worth it for someone considering the sansamp, but can't part with that type of cash! Looking for £15 plus £2 postage Best off emailing me: JLElvin @ googlemailDOTcom(trying to stay spam free, remove the spaces and change the 'dot')

I've decided to rack some of my gear to make it a bit easier for me, and would like to put my AKG wireless system in it. I've seen an AKG kit, which includes long ears to mount the system as a full rack, but what about mounting it in just half? There's no weight to it. Also got a superfly that I might take out of it's holder, how would I go on with that (I threw the rack ears out, yeah I'm a tit )? I reckon it's too heavy to just mount on one side, although without all the silver casing...can I get something to connect them together?
