1. Meguiars. Fender market it as guitar polish but AFAIK it's the same stuff as used for cars. You can get it in Halfords
 2. I like it, it reminds me a great deal of some of Micheal Hedges stuff....haunting, off the wall and just different.
 3.
I'm pretty lucky - 2.4 miles according to google maps
Even luckier I guess, 1.1 miles according to the same site
 4. In fact, here is the whole thing Just for your Fender loving delectation
 5.
Ooops, sorry. So how did it get like that?
It's the natural colour of the Buckeye Burl facings.
 6.
To be fair, his headstock hasn't been used to start a bonfire.
HAHAHAHAHAH. Gee you're funny (I had to get the Missus to figure that comment out)
 7. Mine cost £375 brand new! I've know idea how he thinks it's worth £500. Still Caveat Emptor and all that. 9. Might just order some while I'm in the States and get them sent to where I'm staying. I'm there for four weeks so that should be plenty of time for them to get to me.
 10. This is mine. I've had no problems with it and it seems to be accurate. Totally bomb proof too, it feels like it's made from the armour plating they use on tanks I've threatened to throw it at our drummer when he cocks up, damn thing would kill him.
 11. Jeez but they're expensive from Thomann (compared to Stringbusters that is) still beggars can't be choosers I suppose.
 12. Thanks again John. At the moment I'm definitely interested, looking forward to trying some and then arguing with the staff in Guitar Center - Vegas, last time I was in there they were no better than some of the guys in Denmark Street Still, I won't let that put me off.
 13. From the site "Please understand our instrument bodies are complexly hand crafted with the finest exotic tone woods." Wow, really???????
 14.
....snip.... The MIM Deluxes also have US electrics, pickups and a US vintage bridge. MIM tuners though - same tuners as the MIM "upgrade".
Now that's interesting, thanks John. One thing though, are you saying the tuners are not great?
 15. They may sound like the best thing ever but no, I could never wear one of those things. Hideous IMO.
 16.
Would it have gone along the lines of, "I've bought this bass........" Try the Squier versions I had one for ages it was amazing would still be my gigging bass if some c*** hadn't nicked it.
Hahaha, it would probably go that way. I'll have a look at the Squiers, they're passive aren't they?
 17.
Tinman - Just so as we are clear, I was the Huggy Bear character who (accidentally) gave Mrs. Tinman the word on the street re this thread. Like I can talk with my mass of kit! Sorry
No worries there fella, I was going to talk to her about anyway (at some point)
 18.
You're in the sh!t now you sneaky sod! Thank heavens for BC'ers who innocently grass you up!
Oops, busted
 19. Thanks for the info guys. It's actually the active one that I'm interested in. So anymore info on those would be great. Cheers Pete
 20.
Ah - I just wasn;t sure if you were looking at new or used. There's been a few variations of the MIM P Special...
At the moment I'm looking at a new one. It comes as no surprise that there have been variations - it's hard to keep up sometimes.
 21.
Are you looking at the current model?
Are you saying the current model is different from those advertised on the various websites? Sometimes I hate the web. In general all the sites say is that they were introduced in 05. There seems to be nothing about the date of the ones that are advertised (not even on the Fender Mex site even)
