2. Greeting fellow funksters. 2008/2009 'Highway One' P-bass Made in U.S.A. Rosewood board Nitrocellulose black finish DiMarzio Model P pickup (stock pickup also included) Badass II Bridge (recently refurbished with new saddles) Setup with fret dress at Charlie Chandler's 07/10/2016 Currently wearing LaBella flats Weighs just under 9lb / 4.1kg Open to trades and p/x's. I'm particularly keen on any of the following (preferably active and with two pickups), ir order of preference:

decent fretless (must be lined)
steinberger-esque (cricket bat) bass
5 string
Some background Bought last year to take on Nigerian tour in place of my beloved '69 Jazz bass. I took one look at it on eBay and had to have it. Tons of mojo...and the sticker already attached was stupidly serendipitous. If you don't know much about these basses, they were built in the Corona factory in California and shipped down Highway 1 to Mexico where they were finished in nitrocellulose. They were designed to age nice and easy, which this one has. Curiously, they also shipped with a Badass II as standard. The previous owner replaced the stock pickup and 'greasebucket' circuit with the hotter DiMarzio Model P. The original pickup and circuitry was included when I bought it and will be included when I part with it. I've just spent £110 getting this bass setup at Charlie Chandler's in Hampton, London. It required some fretwork where the top fret had popped. This has now been totally fixed and dressed. The Badass saddles were also replaced with new ones as the old ones had seized. Currently strung with Jamerson-gauge La Bella flats (about a year old, full of Lagos mojo). I'm in Dorking but regularly gigging, teaching and rehearsing in London. Happy to arrange visits. I make nice tea and we always have decent biscuits Hit me up with any questions or trade offers! I'll do my best to answer within the day. Cheers

  5. It's 8:30 in the evening. You know what that means, don't you? It's a good time to buy a Stingray 5!!
  6. Leaving Acton shortly on my way to Olympia. Can't wait. Got a rather splendid hangover today, so 100 slap-hungry bass-bashers amplified to the hilt is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered! I should be easy to spot - just look for a really tall, alarmingly green bloke.
  7. 1995 Musicman Stringray 5 in fantastic condition. Rosewood board, maple body, 3-band EQ. The neck is straight with a little relief dialled in for a fast, low action. This can easily be altered using the pin-wheel truss rod adjuster. The electronics are also working perfectly, with no pops or crackles. The outer edge of the battery compartment is missing a corner, presumably where a previous owner damaged it. There are a couple of very minor scuff marks in the lacquer too, hardly noticeable. This bass is in excellent shape for a 20-year old instrument. There are no issues affecting playability or tone whatsoever. The serial number is 56896, which I believe denotes it as a 1995 model. I received this bass in a trade last year and have only gigged it a couple of times since. I used it on a studio session for which I wanted that classic Chic sound, so I strung it with a £60 set of heavy gauge La Bella "Jamerson" flats. Truss-rod and intonation adjustments were very easy and the bass plays absolutely perfectly. If you want that Bernard Edwards sound, I'm happy to leave the flats on there (they'll last for years). Otherwise I can set it up with a nice new set of rounds. Selling to fund a deposit for a house, so not interested in trades I'm afraid! I think £900 is very fair, but if you want to offer me more, of course I'll listen Cheers! 8. WOW! These things are as rare as the proverbial rocking-horse dung. The only Musicman rarer than this is a Cutlass II, I think. Good luck with the sale!
  9. I've just bought Si's '69 Jazz Bass and I'm absolutely delighted, beyond thrilled. The bass (already dubbed "Woody"...because the neck is stamped 10 days before Woodstock) is the best sounding, playing and looking Jazz bass I've ever encountered. Si is a top, top chap, a true gent and an absolute pleasure to deal with. If I hand't just bought THE bass to end all basses, I'm pretty sure I'd be returning for more sometime soon! Honestly, if you're interested in a bass Si has posted, you have absolutely nothing to be concerned about whatsoever! Thanks Si!
  10. Just got my '69 Jazz this week so as awesome as this bass is, it's not going to get a look in any more. Received one great trade offer, still open for a straight sale also.
  11. Bank Holiday bump. Anyone looking to swap their 5-string for an awesome 4? I'm open to trades.
  12. I've got a superb 1990 Warwick Streamer Stage I - 4-string though. Of any interest to you? Beautiful bass, by the way!
  13. This bass is pure badness. Check it out! Somebody's gonna have a very happy Bank Holiday weekend if they act quickly. If I wasn't buying a '69 Jazz Bass, it would most certainly be me!
  14. Offer received. Very likely to go this afternoon.
  15. Due to sale of Thumb 6, I'm now considering trades for this one. Ideally looking for a 5-string. Anything along the lines of a Jazz Deluxe V, Stingray 5, Streamer Jazzman 5, Thumb 5 etc.
  16. Bump City! Think I've got the price wrong? Please let me know! Cheers, John
  17. Will consider offers. Will deliver within 100 miles of London [s]No trades thanks[/s] Will consider trades (5-strings preferred) Serial Number: L3079 90 This 1990 Streamer Stage I was built during the early period when Warwick handcrafted their most sought-after instruments.

Hand-built
2-band MEC EQ
MEC PJ pickups
Just-a-Nut I brass nut (the best one, in my opinion)
Standard bridge and tailpiece
Schaller strap locks
Tons of growl and bags of headroom. It's so much fun to play, it practically plays itself! Finished in a gorgeous, translucent red that really shows off the contours of the instrument and the wenge stripes through the neck. Though this bass has a couple of minor dings, it's far from shabby. Still a stunning instrument. The maple and wenge neck is much slimmer than later later Warwick baseball bats (feels much more like a Jazz) and the wenge fretboard is adorned with the small dot markers that would soon be phased out. I acquired this bass in a Warwick-for-Warwick swap with Kev a few months ago. I'm selling to move to more traditional (Fender) gear, so I'm only interested in a sale please. I've included some of Kev's photos (thanks Kev!) since the bass is in exactly the same condition as it was when he handed it to me. I'm based in West London, happy to meet. Bass has only a soft case, so local collection preferred (though shipping can certainly be arranged at buyers cost). Any questions, gimme a shout!
  18. Thanks Phil - you certainly know your way around yours very well indeed! Weight is by no means unsubstantial. That said, I use a 5" wide leather strap with mine and it helps an awful lot. I'd be quite happy to donate it with the bass
