  1. Now thats something I can get behind.
  2. My first time I've participated in one of these threads as I knew it was pointless in years past, so no surprise I've just bought something. It's JPJ's second hand Line6 G30 wireless system for my second stage bass as swapping one wireless between the two (fretted and fretless) Barrymored the jack plug on the fretted, so this is so I can have each bass with its own system/signal and save wear and tear. If I'm not mistaken that is tier 2, so I'm still hanging by my fingernails onto tier 1. However, more than happy for the Gear Abstinence Thread legal teams to debate the validity of my claim
  3. Apparently the original owner only played it twice in 40 years, so why would it need a refin?
  4. What a shame, that's a 643 hair bow, and I only play 644'ers nowadays
  5. I wonder how much a violin bow costs?
  6. May I join in the fun? (Or lack of fun depending on how you look at it?) Should be good for a larf at the very least....... I think I'm in nett negative territory tbh as I sold a bass today and still haven't bought owt in 2025, fourteen whole days in....
  7. East Grinstead on march 1st is the closest for the moment
  8. SOLD They get a lot of love do these Nanyo basses. This one is a SB 301, the serial number is no longer present so I can't tell you what year it is. It is the passive model, and when I got it the control pots were had it, so I got in touch with @KiOgon of this very parish who made one of his excellent looms up for it. A couple of small paint chips as detailed in the pics, but really very good condition otherwise. £200 due to the upgrade. Collection from Axminster preferred, though I travel around a lot, so I could bring it along to a show with me should we be playing near you.
  9. Yes, it is, I wasn't suggesting that you made it up.
  10. Have you? Its a shame because I agree with Doctor J that they are a more elegant solution to the break angle issue
  11. Indeed. If I was building that bass though, I'd drill straight through, add bigger bolts and chuck some nuts and washers on the back too, just in case
  12. I wonder how much force there is on those two little screws?
  13. People called Romanes they go the house?
  14. No one else had favourable experience using Van Damme Tourcat?
  15. And that Marleaux ^^ has now passed on to me ( I think its the same one anyway) in another pain free transaction from Bilbo. Cheers Rob!
  16. Pretty sure it is a new nut yes. I cant make out the last digit so was hoping someone would have extra knowledge in order to date it
  17. What year is that bass? I don't think they did the maple neck and black block combo for long did they?
  18. Ooh I'd forgotten about this thread. I asked for help didn't I? Lets see what people make of this neck and tuners - any info gratefully received (cant find the pic of the whole thing and I'm away from the piece at the mo)
  19. Well that save worked out rather well
  20. If ever there was a thread that needs pics, its this one
  21. Is that not a standard Dunlop style straplock button?
  22. I think that most designs covered here except for the old standard Fender. C'mon then, show us some beautiful headstocks.....
  23. Who are the vintage Fender experts on here? hoping for a bit of help
  24. Similar story here, I gave up for a decade and sold all my gear ( that would sell anyway) and then suddenly found myself in a band again and the whole thing started again. The Gas is stronger second time around though. @Count Bassy I'm reading a bit of frustration between the lines of your OP, as I think you know the answers to the questions in it already. Not very profound, but if you enjoy playing, then play, whether that be at a 10,000 seater stadium or in your bedroom. I imagine your collection of gear is all bought and paid for, so if you dont desperately need the capital tied up in them or the space they take up, leave them be. I hope things work out for you and the future becomes a bit rosier. Though, me being an optimist, I already know it will be
