7. This baby has been laguishing in the humiliation of my loft for too long now. Its not kept there for any other reason than i just don't play it any more. I have a modded CIJ which i prefer, and my stingray and (of late, particularly) my Moog, have always seen plenty of action too. in my heart i know ill regret this but right now it hasnt had a string change in five years and it must have been 4 years since it was gigged. The bass was my main bass between 1984 and 1998 has been on numerous tours/shows home and abroad and therefore has MOJO. There is nothing structurally defective with it, its just it is a bass that has been well used. All the fittings are original, and the fret wear is relatively light for a bass of this age as ive always used nickel rather than steel strings, and the action is reasonably low,(no point in making life harder than it needs to be.) there are numerous dings (ive tried to photograph the lot) and the sound definitely has that Precision tone in quantity. Any road up, im looking for £500 firm but i'm also open to a little tittilation on the exchange front,so hit me with what you got.
8. Just got back from a few days holiday in Bohinj and Bled ... Lovely country! Have a bump on me!
9. Kinda what i thought really... There is some vivid imaginations locally to me that said a grand + but i thought it was too good to be true. Back to the loft it goes!!! Cheers
It's worth anywhere from £300 - £900 (though the upper figures tend to be reserved for mint condition 'collectors pieces' particularly Jazzes). TBH you could advertise it at anywhere in between those figures and you might still not get a bite. A JV P bass modded with a Jazz pup was on ebay recently for a BIN of £600/£550/£500/£400 and eventually sold for £360, that should give you an idea but it might be worth trawling through past BC sales to see what has actually sold (as opposed to been advertised) and for how much.
10. Hi Ive attached some pictures of my March 84 JV Precision which has been in the loft for the past 5 years unplayed. I dont get the use out of it as i have moved on to more "Sophisticated" Instruments ( 5/6 strings etc). Ive heard rumours that it might be worth a penny or two these days so can anyone give a balanced view on this. Ive heard outrageous claims and wonder what the concensus was...
11. Love mine ....... Have a bump!
