2.
I use a Boss TU15 which I've "borrowed" off my dad, and it does the job really well. I don't like having it on the floor though and it doesn't mute to tune, and for the next show I'm doing I'll be actually onstage as part of the cast, so need a tuner which does that. So I'm looking at a TU2, TU1000, Pitchblack+ or Polytune. Anyone any experience of the others?
I had a pitchblack+ and a polytune at the same time... Sold the Polytune and Kept the Pitchblack+... tuning is just so much more fun with those huge LED's. It's much bigger and heavier though and the polytune's a decent thing too.
 3. I tried it on a bass tuned BEAD. Worked fine on poly mode on the strings that were there, though it had a tendancy to imagine a G string (don't we all).

 7. http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Solaris.html http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/manua...s_UserGuide.pdf Bought this to do some acoustic guitar and vocal tracking - jobs it does extremely well, to the point where my playing did no justice to the sound of the recording! However, we don't really have the time for individual tracking and tend to record old-styleee live takes together - where we only need dynamic mic's - and I'm not doing much acoustic playing these days. Put a feeler up for this a while back and haven't used it since, so I think it's time to find it a new home! Asking only £125 posted special delivery as I have my eye on some other goodies.

 9. Took up the kind offer of a spare 'Hartke' cab badge... which arrived the next day. Appreciate it, thanks again.
 10.
Ah right, he uses it quite subtly so it wasn't obvious to me that it was doing anything other than repeats. Could you not try modding an EHX memory boy? They use a normal size footswitch from what I can tell although I've not opened one up and looked. Should be fairly straightforward to swap it out for a momentary one.
Could do something like that... Though as I don't alreadh have a delay I was thinking of contacting 'made by mike' and asking him if he could do this with a momentary switch....
 11.
Err, don't various Boss Delays do exactly this with the warp mode? It's the sound our guitarist uses at the start of this video:- http://vimeo.com/8052822 I think he uses a DD-6.
All the warp mode on the DD6 does is increase the delay level and feedback while you hold the pedal - but you can't use it to maintain a repeating sound while you continue playing dry over the top, because the effect send is active while you hold the pedal. You can get the effect I want with the DD6 in normal delay mode, but you have to stamp on it to turn it on and then again to turn it off, which is one stamp too many. I found the DD6 a very frustrating pedal, actually - it ALMOST does some things that i would find really cool..!
 12. I kind of got the arrangement I wanted working, with a rather unwieldy set of equipment - basically going into a splitter, then one output going via a volume pedal through a 100% wet delay into a mixer, and the other output from the splitter going straight into the mixer. (I'm using a Voodoo bass as the splitter, a Korg AX1000G as the volume pedal, and a behringer delay, so it's not quite stage ready!)
Why not send Silent Fly a PM & see what [sfx] can do?
I might indeed get something made. at the moment I'm thinking it should have: - a mixer with an always on return, with variable blend between dry and effect return - the send to the effect should be activated via a momentary switch, or a plug-in volume pedal - there should also be a feedback from the effect return to the input of the effect, which would allow a mod effect to be placed in series with the delay to allow progressively more chorused delays, etc - inputs and outputs should be switchable between instr and line level, maybe? - maybe a kill switch for the delay return for when things start going wrong! Anyway my ideas will probably evolve!
 13.
Would the EHX Freeze do what you're after? I may have misunderstood slightly. http://www.ehx.com/products/freeze Holds the last note you played over whatever your doing, with a level control....??
Looks like an intersting box but I'm not really after infinite sustain or 'freeze' - I'm more thinking of dub-type sounds with conventional repeats and feedback. So all I really need is a conventional delay pedal with trails, but with a press on/release off footswitch rather than press on/press off...
 14.
Probably best off finding a bypass loop pedal that has the return always on but only sends when you depress the switch, then just get whatever delay pedal you like?
I suppose that would work - any recommendations for such a bypass loop pedal ? I can see it causing problems with dry signal level though...
 15. ...so I can just quickly put a bit of spot delay on one note by holding down the switch for the duration of that note only. I do want to be able to contunue playing 'unaffected', while the delayed sound from a previous note echoes over the top. So I need a momentary switch to control the SEND to the delay, but for the return from the delay to be always active (i.e. trails). Technically it's not anything complicated -Exactly the same as any pedal with trails, but without the need to press the pedal once to activate the send, and again to deactivate it. Also if there's one with tap tempo, that would be awesome. Any eye deers?
 16. Moved on my much-liked but under-used 3XFX Fatman to Naruki - very smooth deal, no problems. Thanks and I hope you enjoy it!
 17. My Monday morning at work sweetened by the arrival of the Bogdan 'Polish love' - couldn't have arrived any faster. A very happy story as it allows me to reunite it with the 'Polish hate' that I got off another BC'er but that, as I undertand it, also belonged to WarPig at one point in the past. Rather nervous about bringing the two pedals back together... it might be like when Rick Moranis meets Sigourney Weaver in Ghostbusters and the universe might implode in some way. None of which would in any way affect my recommendation! Thanks a lot!
 18.
the micro amp goes from unity gain up, you can't make your signal any quieter than it would be without the pedal.
Maybe not the pedal for me then. Thanks a lot for the info. Bump for a great deal for someone though!
 19. PM'd - am interested if this can act as a volume control that goes down to zero?
 20.
IMO you are best served with a comrpessor with all the controls.
Definitely. I have a fairly cheapo rack compressor/expander with all the usual buttons and can get all sorts of effects with it... accentuating the attack, pumping... general smoothing, shifting the tonal balance, noise reduction (I hardly ever bother, but I can!). Typical pedal compressors are very limited (gedddittt??!) in comparison.
 21.
PM'ed
And... sold! Thank you sir... will be on its way to you tomorrow.
 22.
Does it work with active basses? And what's the difference between that version and the one feature in BassFuzz.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC42uMZ7v3Y...player_embedded ?
Looks like the Fatman V2, compared to the V1: - loses the tone control (shame, it's a nice tone control, not just a 'muffler'!) - adds an 'oscillating fuzz mode' with a light sensor. From the samples on their website, the 'oscillating fuzz mode' doesn't sound all that relevant to bass (http://www.3xfx.com/audio/fm_oscillating_lead_2.mp3) so the V1 might actually be better for bass..? I've not tried the V2 though myself. I don't have an active bass myself, but this thread mentions no issue in the 'Fatman' (i.e. V.1) mode - only a difference in the 'fuzz' mode. Hope that helps!
