2. I've seen Limehouse Lizzy a few times and agree with you. They're fantastic. Sadly, I never got to see the real deal
3. Welcome aboard mate. Nice to hear there's another all-black P-Bass fan!! Ideally I'd like a mirrored pickguard but that then leaves me a mighty reputation to live up to (PHil Lynott God bless him) Murph
4. I'll have to wander down there soon. There's nothing like beer and good music!!
5. Evening all- I haven't been down there yet but I've heard it's pretty good. Apparently there's a good open mic night in Guildford too. Any ideas?
6. Hi all I came across this website when Paul kindly gave me the link after seeing my Lakland for sale on Ebay. Of course I had to join immediately!! my name is Murph and I am currently based in Woking. I play bass in a newly formed (by a group of flea-bitten, jaded old musos) covers band called Growler (my wife hates the name!!) We'll hopefully be in a postion around September where we can start gigging again and I can't wait!! My current kit consists of a Fender Precision (my baby), Rick 4003 and my Lakland (which I'm hoping to excahnge with a Musicman Stingray or Sterling). Ampwise I've got som Ashdown kit at the moment. Anyway, nice to meet you all. Murph
7. I've tried a few units in my time and am currently using the Freeport. It certainly does the business for me and the bodypack bounces if dropped too!!
8. It has the Lakland pickups, but my word!! These cut through all the noise of any over-bearing drummer or Guitarist and it's a pleasure to see the look on their faces...
9. Got your message- thanks veyr much. Any time you're in Surrey, pop in for a beer!! Murph
10. I am selling a Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 4 string bass in Lake Placid blue. This is the easiest bass I have ever played and is basically an updated Fender Jazz bass (see Lakland's excellent website for full details www.lakland.com/basses/jones.htm). It sounds far better than my Fender US Jazz and is louder and growlier. I think if you're a Jazz bass fan (I'm more of a P Bass man myself) then this is the place you want to be!! This was imported from the US by me recently (it was sold new in the US in Jan 2007) and the over all condition is "as new" apart from a small paint chip on the very top of the head (pictured) where the edge of the case lid fell on to the top. There is no damage to the wood (a miniscule ding) and it is only the paintwork that has been affected. The body is perfect and it is virtually unplayed. These are as rare as Hen's teeth in the UK and will cost you £1000 plus every day of the week. If you're looking for something different, please take my word for it and look no further. It comes with the original white scratchplate as well as a custom made red tortoise pickguard. I had it completely overhauled and checked out at Anderton's in Guildford (full details available). When I took it out of the case it turned every head in the store and I was asked when I went to pick it up if I was the guy who owned the beautiful "West Ham bass" that everyone had been drooling over!! The body shape is quite different from a Fender Jazz (lower horn is a lot shorter and body is more contoured) but the neck is the same dimensions and is a beauty. Included is a virtually new well-padded gigbag or (for probably an additional £10 postage charge) a well-used Warwick flightcase (battered but bulletproof). Specs are as follows: Nut Width 1.5" Fingerboard radius 7.25" Scale 34" Neck Flat-sawn Maple Fingerboard Maple with block inlays Tuners Lightweight Hipshot Pickups Passive Lakland single coils (very loud!!) Here are some reviews posted on the Harmony-Central website- you won't get better scores than this: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...re+Skyline/10/1 I am looking to buy a Musicman Stingray or Sterling (would be interested in hearing about any P/X's or a swap) and my wife says only if something goes, so I have no other choice...Realistically, I'm looking for around £700 for this. I'm selling this on Ebay, so feel free to bid there too. Please let me know if you have any questions and good luck
