1. I do. I can't really add much to what has been said already. Build quality isn't the best (I can't use a power adaptor on mine anymore as it keeps coming loose) but as a plug and play Compressor, I think it's a great bit of kit.
 2.
How can it take *that* long to make a Bass?
I must admit, it did cross my mind too!! However, if that's the timeframe he's quoting from the outset, I can't complain if he DOES take 5 months...
 3.
nice colour combo- trans blue on swamp ash, black guard and rosewood board. how are the pickups selected/switched?
The idea is to have one split volume pot for both pickups and one tone pot for both as well (similar to the stacked pots on the old Fender Jazzes)
 4. TIme to confess all I guess. After many conversations with Si (Old Git) and then Jon Shuker, I've decided to ask Shuker to make a 5 String Precision for me (hence the reason I'm looking to sell my Lakland DJ5). Inspiration certainly came from Si's 5 Stringer, but this one should be markedly different. Spec is below and Jon has confirmed it will take a maximum of 5 months. I'd be very interested to hear what you think. Number of strings: 5 Body: Swamp ash Jean Jacques Burnel Precision shape Body thickness: 40mm Neck: 1 piece rock maple Fingerboard: Indian rosewood Number of frets: 20 Frets: Medium jumbo Fret markers: White Pearloid block markers/matching binding Side dots: Black Nut: Brass Pickups: 1x Delano Precision, 1x Delano Jazz Controls: 2 x split knobs (1x volume, 1x tone) Bridge: Schaller 2000 Machine heads: Hipshot Hardware: Chrome Pickguard: Black Pearloid Scale: 34" Width at nut: 45mm Depth at first fret 19.5mm Lacquer: Gloss Polyurethane Neck Lacquer: Satin Lacquer (15% gloss) Colour: Transparent Blue Electronics: Passive/ wide band tone cut Truss rod: 2-way and carbon reinforcements Head shape: 4+1 (as per P-Bass on Shuker website) The deposit has been paid, so now the long wait begins...
 5. Every time I see one of these it reminds me of The Last Waltz. Rick Danko- another great musician who is sorely missed. A great looking bass mate with a very distinctive tone- well done
 6.
MB1. Chris Squire eh? Here Today!.... Gone....Already!...... That were a quick one!
just wasn't meant to be mate.
 7. More photos added as promised. Comes with Lakland hardcase, 2 spare pickguards and original Lakland passive electrics. I'm probably going to put this on Ebay tomorrow. It's one of those ironies. The more photos I took of it, the more I want to keep it!! If I don't get any bites, hopefully I'll be able to find a way of hanging on to this and going ahead with my other project.
 8.
It was nice that you rescued it from the shop and passed it on to a good home!
I'm hoping someone will return the favour when they happen to discover one of Phil Lynott's Precisions at a Jumble Sale!!
 9.
Wow! I had no idea you had any Ricks, let alone 3!! Did Old Horse Murphy not get on with the CS then? Looks like a sexy collection - get them in before it rains!!
It wasn't really for me Ped and once you see it with Peter's other 2, it looks like it's found a good place to stay now (despite the weather).
 10. Lovely Peter. A beautiful collection
 11. Right Handed? Shoe size 10? So much in common except I'm Left handed and take a size 9.
 12.
This really should have gone by now.......basses wern't meant to be so pretty. The project must be something really special to part with this Nick.
Thanks for the comments Mart. I promise you'll be the first to know when I reveal what I'm up to!!
 13. Thanks very much for the interest so far. There have been some very tempting offers of trades, ut I'm really looking to sell this on (never say never though!!)
 14.
Damn, if this was only in a few months time when the mortgage is paid off for good. I want a pair - a black sparkle and a white one. Did I say damn? Have a bump. P
And Crowthorne being so close too... I'm in no real rush to sell, so you never know. It could still work out
 15.
First owned: My mum's old Westbury Track 2. Not bad!! Looks like this but without the stickers and I've added a badass style bridge to replace the original which had a strange curve to it, like an upright meaning the middle two strings were about 2mm higher of the fretboard - hard work! Originally strung with 20 year old rotosound black nylons it didn't ever stay in tune. First time I bought a set of strings for it (a set of fenders I think) I was amazed at how good it sounded! These are great little basses, it's very well made too.
This was my first bass I owned too. I think it cost me £30 after I saw an advert in the local paper. It had be resprayed in black by Stevie Wonder (well, you should have seen it.) The action was horrible, it was neck heavy but I loved it!! After a year or so, I took the frets out and filled the gaps in with plastic wood.
 16. Thanks for all the interest so far. Unfortunately, I'm not looking for trades at the moment.
 17.
It certainly looks absolutely stunning especially in white. I've got nothing in white/cream, yet! Peter
Yet!!
 18. I am currently considering selling my Lakland Darryl Jones 5 Stringer in order to fund a new "project" (all to be revealed at a later stage). It's in absolutely mint condition and comes with the official Lakland hard case (which has a few dings). The bass is white with a maple fingerboard and has 3 pickguards with it; white, black and tortoise (made by Jeannie's Pickguards). In addition, it now has a John East J-Retro fitted to it (I still have the Lakland Passive unit safe too). I've put a couple of photos up. I'll try to take a few more, but it really is in mint condition, so you'll pretty much know what you're getting anyway. Price-wise, I'm looking for £850 including the J-Retro and £800 without it. P&P to be agreed at a later stage. You could probably find cheaper if you looked around, but you won't easily find one in this condition for this sort of money. It's also set up beautifully and is incredibly easy to play. I'm not looking for trades at this stage, but PM me if you have any questions at all. Thanks for looking.
