2. Just a very quick straw poll here amongst us bass Chatters. What is the song you are most requested to play and can you beat being asked to play Wonderful Tonight 4 times in one evening by 4 completely different loved-up drunkards? Until Sunday night, I wouldn't have thought it was possible!!

 7. That Jazz bass looks gorgeous. Really understated but lovely
 8.
I like it! Tho' I am famed for my lack of taste
Anyone who quotes JJ Cale has got taste in my mind...

 10. That MM would look beautiful with Gold hardware....
 11.
MB1. Looks better with chrome hardware. That ,to me, has all the charisma of a a cheap tarts handbag! sorry! gold and white just aint right! in my eyes.
Maybe I can use it when we play Ballads "So true, funny how it seems...."
 12.
Same colours as my ASAT, leave it how it is. Get some red strings.
Red strings eh? Kinky....
 13. Art Pepper's album "Today". The bass playing throughout the whole album is stunning but there's a bass solo on "Patricia" which stops my heart every time I hear it. I think the bassist is called Paul Chambers but whoever he is, it's the best Double bass playing I've ever heard On investigation, Paul Chambers died 12 years before this album was recorded, so I'm not sure it was him anymore.....
 14. [atta hment=1662:MM4.jpg] I wonder if any of you had come across one of these before. It's a 1999 MM Stingray in white with official gold MM hardware (more of a Blingray than Stingray). The only other Ray I've seen with gold hardware is OBBM's Root Beer Aerosmith Ray. It's in immaculate condition and I'm hopefully due to take delivery of it in the next day or so. To be honest, not sure why I've bought it as I already have a Stingray 4 ( I was looking for a 5 string). I guess all the shiny shiny drew me in. Not sure how long I'll hang on to it though. I'm thinking of putting a black Pickguard on it and see how I get on
 15.
Good one, never thought of that. Regarding the Schaller thing, considering the price of an MIA you would have thought they would have included straplocks especially as the buttons don't work with 'ordinary' straps - Warwick do. Vorsprung Durch Technik
Mart The Precision came with Schaller straplocks as standard, but only the end that fits on the bass (not the part that fits on the strap). I think I've got a couple of strap parts spare so I'll send them on to you.
 16.
Which red B.C.Rich bass? she had a few,if it is the Red Bich she had,the Suzi STILL owns it and a red Eagle I didn't buy all my basses,The '79 Bich I just got back,I swapped for the Yamaha ,and the Mockingbird that Phil used-I was GIVEN A friend of mine owns the Ironbird bass used in the Megadeth "Wake up dead" video,2 of Rick Derringer's Stealths and a custom Snake guitar that used to be George Lynch's
Jeez I obviously hang around with the wrong people..........GIVEN a bass that Phil Lynott used? He's one of my biggest heroes. You wait til I see my mates next. Tight gits.....
 17. Lovely and just look at the size of those pickups!! I've never played a Tele-shaped bass before. Good on you.
 18. I've used Gavin at Anderton's in Guildford for my last 3 set ups. Reasonably priced, serviced within a week and he phones you to give progress updates.

 20. I agree with Hamster. Fo me the coolest bass player ever has to be Phil Lynott. Followed closely by (believe it or not) Adam Clayton. Not so much for the quality of his playing (although I still think he's under-rated), but as a kid growing up watching U2, he had the attitude and the moves that made me want to be a bass player.
 21. I just thought I share my new arrivals with you. The Bongo is the HH configuration in what Musicman call Lava Pearl. It's just come back from Anderton's after having a good old set up (thanks Gavin), so tomorrow will be the first time I'll use her properly. In the short time I test drove her, the sounds are amazing. My wife thinks it's the ugliest guitar she's ever seen but likes the colour as it matches her car (don't know why I bothered asking). The Stingray has the single hunbucker and 3-eq. I picked it up this morning after buying her from Mr Mike (well worth travelling down the M4 at 6 in the morning!!). Unfortunately, in order to pay for these, I had to let my Lakland DJ4 and my spare US Precsion go. The DJ4 went to obbm (Dave) and the Precision went to Martthebass. I'm really pleased I was able to pass these 2 basses on to fellow Bass Chatters ad I hope you're happy with you new acquisitions. I know some people will ask why I got rid of the DJ4 and Precision for a couple of MM's but I guess its all down to personal preference and I'm really chuffed. Now all I have to do is tell the wife I've also bought a new 1x15 cab too!! Anyone know a good divorce lawyer?
