  1. Ah, I see. $2,700 USD still doesn't quite equate to £2000 GBP though. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  2. I've only ever owned one Dingwall (a Lee Sklar Signature) but I never had the need to adjust it. If Sheldon's intonation video is anything to go by (accepting that it's the individual bridge piece design rather than what we have here) it suggests that once the locking screw is unlocked, the saddle can be moved back and forth easily and once it's in the correct place it can be retightened. Sheldon may be many things, but being terrible in the design phase is not generally one of them.
  3. $2,700 Canadian is a lot less than £2000GBP though.
  4. Did anyone see the Dingwall page when there were any for sale directly from them and if so, what was the price point?
  5. I contacted them this morning and there’s no update.
  6. I was interested in the JT Sig, but even more so now having listened to Sheldon speak about the pre-amp.
  7. Learning a whole Queen set at the moment. We’re having to do it in chunks of 4/5 songs at a time as it’s too much to refine in one go. The current batch is Keep Yourself Alive, Another One Bites The Dust, You’re My Best Friend, Under Pressure and Now I’m Here. Under Pressure is no problem as I played it for years in a Bowie tribute. Another One Bites The Dust is not exactly taxing either. You’re My Best Friend is an interesting tune as per the studio recording, but John played a lot of the high stuff lower on Live Killers which is what we’re using as a template. Now I’m Here and Keep Yourself Alive we’re equally interesting. The guitarist properly has his work cut out for him, but he’s doing a fantastic job. He’s not that keen on playing the Brian May guitar he’s bought though. He’s ordered one of the proper expensive ones hoping it will be better. I’m sure it will be.
  8. Dang I want another Dingwall after watching that video 😎 It does annoy me slightly that most of the playing content was distorted within an inch of its life. The exception being the amazing Lee Sklar which wasn’t exactly a hi-fi recording and was also cut short 🤷‍♂️
  9. There is an update on the Status site.... "We would like to thank everyone for the incredible response to our 40th Anniversary and Limited Edition 2000 basses. It may take a while to get all the basses allocated but I expect to be able to contact everyone later today or first thing tomorrow."
  10. Yeah, I think he had one the 30th Anniversary basses as I recall. A really nice example too.
  11. Doesn’t sound like anyone here has contacted Rob about any of these instruments. I sent a message registering my interest, but have heard nothing. Anyone had any response?
  12. Ha ha. They thought they’d stolen a decent bass and were disappointed to find out it was a Rickenbacker 😂. (it’s a joke - I own one myself)
  13. That transparent red 40th would be my choice. I missed out on the 30th Anniversary basses. I had the opportunity to buy one, but it wasn’t the one I really wanted and it came along at the wrong time.
  14. A small basement in downtown Bakhmut. Parking is no problem, I just can't guarantee your car won't be in a thousand pieces by the end of the night.
  15. Having listened to every song listed again, here's my result. It's a bit of an oddity anyway as there are a lot of songs missing to start with.
  16. I was there right up to the 3 bolt neck 🤷‍♂️
  17. I do love the live albums, even after finding out about the tinkering that went on. Agreed regarding the production of the earlier albums, but I do have a soft spot for Dressed To Kill though.
  18. Did you ever do any of the solo material live?
  19. There are a bunch of songs on the Simmons solo album that were written and demoed for Destroyer, but for one reason or another didn’t make the grade. It would have been nice to have heard them with the full on Ezrin production, although to have the demo’s is something I guess. They’re on the Super Deluxe version. I think Ace said some of his solo album songs were written for Rock and Roll Over.
  20. Slightly off topic, but I listened to all four of the solo albums at work this morning. You can certainly hear echoes of the band's songwriting in all of them except Peter Criss' effort, which is just dire IMHO. I'm aware he's known as having 'jazz' roots, but that album is getting deleted from my downloads. I think Ace's album is probably my favourite, followed by Paul's, then Gene's, but there's not much in it.
