2.
Maybe a thin line of mastic around the edge of the plate, wait for it to dry then put it back on. Would that act as a gasket?
Mastic as a gasket? Sounds fantastic! Not sure if it would work, but it makes great poetry ;-)
 3. There are currently three Wals on Craigslist, from £900 to £2600. I have no connection with any of the sellers, but if you want a Wal .... http://london.craigslist.co.uk/search/msg?query=wal
 4. I've got a 3.0-10T and am very happy with it. The head is great and has the tone, the weight (or lack of it), the small footprint, and the aux in and headphones out that you need. Mind you, the aux in is a mono 1/4" jack, so you'll probably want a splitter cable to get both stereo sides fed into the amp. With just the 10" speaker you've got a featherweight, tiny combo, which is why I bought it. But the sound is not as bassy as I'd like at high volumes. It's rated at 175W, but I wouldn't use it at anything like full volume with just that speaker. I often plug it into a 12" speaker or a 15" and it's a fantastic sound. And with the 10" and a 15" (giving 300W), it's everything I could want. I should say my taste tends towards an old-school Motown type of sound rather than a hi-fi modern sound. I suspect the shuttle would suit a modern taste better.
 5. My son (who's just learning bass) was asking what the tugbar was for on my Squier CV P-bass. I was struggling to answer but my wife suggested that maybe Fender thought people would play bass with their thumbs because finger-picking guitarists play bass notes with their thumbs. It seems as good an explanation as any!
 6.
... IIRC Thumbs have 18v electrics, right?
I can't comment on most of that, but my '08 thumb has 9v electrics. I don't think Warwick have fitted 18v as stock in any of their basses for quite a long time.
 7. Who's his dad? Is it this guy?
 8.
Your Command is my Wish, O Master: Exhibit A - The Glove: Exhibit B - Me hacking through "Politician" Once 'round the block with the glove & once without... You decide.
Thank you sir! I had in mind a rather thinner glove than your gardening mit, but you've made a pretty good fist (sorry!) of it! Was it any harder to play? It sounded like you took a few bars to get used to the different feel but towards the end you were flying! p.s. I loooove your sig!

 10. I have played with thick gloves on once, doing an outdoor gig in December in Aberdeen - it was that or play with ice-blocks where my fingers used to be. I got more comments about the look than about the sound! But has anyone tried gloves on a fretless?
 11. Isn't the Sterling supposed to give a Stingray-like tone but in a more comfortable package? I've never played a Stingray so I don't know how they compare, but that's what I've read. Of course, you could get a Squier - I've recently bought one and it looks and feels great ;-)
 12.
..... How can this be so complicated to understand? ....
No, you're right, it's not so complicated. I was just making a lame joke about the mistake on the circuit diagram:
... the Bridge pickup going through the Middle pickup switch and vice versa. ....
13.
Ah well, all pretty simple then And the more I look at this bass the more I love it....
It's going to be very confusing if the circuit really is like in that diagram, with the Bridge pickup going through the Middle pickup switch and vice versa. You'd have thought it'd be complicated enough without tricks like that
 14. I'm one more happy customer of Seb's. I've just bought a Squier P-bass off him, and within 48 hours of my first enquiry I have the bass here in my hands. It was packed expertly, dispatched promptly, and is in mint condition just as promised. From my experience I would wholeheartedly recommend doing business with this true gentleman. Cheers Seb! Mart
 15. Does this mod change the impedance of the cab at all? It seems to me that it might reduce the impedance, risking damage to the amp, but a multimeter will quickly tell you whether or not that's the case.
 16. I met Robbie yesterday to swap my EBMM for a Rockbass and some cash. He was a pleasure to deal with, and his bass was exactly as he'd described it, in excellent condition. I'd have no hesitation dealing with Robbie again if the opportunity arose.
Just met up with Robbie to do a deal on my Precision. Great guy to do business with and BCers can deal with confidence. Cheers Robbie, enjoy the bass.
17. bump because boy, it's busy 'bout here.
 18.
Has it been fixed yet is it still missing the frets ;-)
Cheeky! You could always buy it off me and get the frets put on yourself - that'd save me the hurt of having to be the one to do the dirty deed! :brow:
 19.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!Don't do it!!!!Basses shouldn't have frets!!
My sentiments exactly! <Gangster Voice>Ok, now listen up. I've got a staple gun here and I'm not afraid to use it. If I don't get me a buyer soon, then the bass gets it!</Gangster Voice>
 20.
that's a beauty. and Linus' avatar (as usual !! ) bumper
Thanks for all the comments folks. There's a few people on the Warwick forum talking about putting frets on a fretless so as to sell it. As a fretless player it breaks my heart to take a beautiful piece of ebony or pau ferro and slam some staples into it . But if that's what it takes ....
 21. Hi everyone! I'm looking for about £700 (+shipping) for this 1997 USA made EBMM Sterling fretless. I originally put it up for sale in the Warwick forum (cos I'm better known there than here - you'll even find some feedback on a previous sale), so follow this link for more details, and a link to more photos. It comes with the original Musicman hardcase so shipping shouldn't be a problem, or we could arrange a handover in person if you're close enough - I'm based in South Wales. Thanks for looking!
