1. I'm putting my Trace Elliot 4x10 up for sale on Ebay this weekend but it has no plate on it telling me the Ohms or Output. People are gonna want to know these things obviously. I know there is/was a website somewhere with loads of old Trace stuff and the specs but i cant seem to find it. Any help would be much appreciated. Its a mid nineties one, cube shaped with the red stripes across the front in between the top and bottom pairs of speakers if that helps? Thats all i have to go on.
  2.
The Bass Merchant have this one in!
really! I think ive just "arrived"
  3. I'm still in lust with it. I'm thinking of ordering one,SSS with maybe pearl blue finish with a black scratchplate. Drooling just thinking about it!

  5.
Is there a Bass Centre again these days?
It appears not, not bieng a londoner i only frequented it a couple of times years ago. Seems its mail order only now. Oh well!
  6. Epi T-Birds are great for the rock/metal sound. Bit cumbersome for a first bass though as they are very headstock heavy. They do play super quick though so you could do a lot worse. Best thing to do is go to a shop with a big range of basses and try out everything you like....and some that you dont...you never know what might float yer boat!

    Oooooooh!

    yes please!!!
  8. Maybe having a noodle about with one in a shop might be an idea, a trip to the Bass Centre might be on the cards me finx.
  9. I used a Sansamp bass driver deluxe last weekend, its the first time ive had a go on any sansamp stuff, the sound i got out of it was insane! With just my Epi Pro t bird and an Ashdown combo i had this amazing Ampeg style growl and punch going on,i am really seriously looking at picking one up for myself now. Just one question, do i need to splash out on the four switch deluxe driver or can i save some cash getting another model and not wasting my money on something which has a bunch of stuff i wouldnt use? Or would you maybe suggest that i would use the extra features after having lived with it for a while and experimented? any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Also is it a real problem using active basses with it? that wasnt just one question at all now was it!

  13.
Gotta admit tho, the Marshall gear is rather heavy!
Yeah,same with my Trace gear!
  14. It does look alot cooler to have a tower of Ampeg onstage behind you but i'm totally in agreement about not having to take a refrigerator sized rig around with you,you can get a hefty enough sound out of smaller gear. I really want to get a Mark Bass head,my Trace is ok but all the MB's ive had a go on have blown my socks off!
  15. My bass player in Killer B Movie uses a Mustang,it is Garage Rock at its purest!
  16.
Look peeps, at the end of the day, I know the bass shape might not be to everyone's taste, as I've repeatedly said, I myself find it a little odd, however there are a couple of things that crash the "culture shock" impression, one is the impressive ergonomics: i.e. it wears well and plays comfortably, and two no matter what anyone can say about the looks it more than makes up for it with the array of sounds you can get out of just one bass. And finally: all comments are appreciated both positive and negative ones, however there is that element of respect that some of you tends forget when describing someoene else's instruments. Let me explain: personally I am not fond of Warwicks, Status, headless of any kind, composite bass necks in general, yet I wouldn't offend an owner of any of these basses by saying your bass is FUGLY, is like someone saying, Jesus mate your wife looks well rough! You just don't do that. That is the part I don't like about this forum: people always go that extra length to be out and out rude. Have some common sense and respect and if you see something you don't particularly like, just say "not my cuppa" or not for me, and keep your nasty comments to yourselves.
I think its beautiful, not as beautiful as my one that i havent got yet and am only dreaming about owning but still, beautiful!

  19.
Again his main problem is that his strap is TOO SHORT!
and he is trying to use a space invaders cabinet as an amp!
  20.
That link I posted has a fair bit of info on the airline in it. Not tried one myself though, sorry.
Those switch positions just look troublesome, especially if you sling it low.
  21. does it say Oxford United? If not,it should! Up the U's!!!!
  22. still none the wiser on the airline then!
  23. i wouldnt mind giving an airline a go but the positioning of the switches puts me off also i have no idea what they sound like. Anybody any the wiser? The Mosrite copies look pretty ace too.
