Gig bag for P-bass?

Ok, now I've got almost my entire rig sorted out, the only thing I'm missing is something to carry my baby in other than the godawful "Ritter Junior" bag that I've been lumbered with since I started. I've got a 1984 Fender Jazz Special (an uncle of the Duff McKagan signature as they call it now) so I figured a Fender gig bag would be a good shout - and I've been looking at this one for 37 quid delivered: http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_deluxe_gigbag_pjbass.htm

Any thoughts? Is there a better and/or cheaper option out there? Or a better place to buy this from? It looks like it's pretty sturdy and has a good array of pouches.

Thanks :)

Ive got the double one of those and i hate it.
I always just use one shoulder strap but the way the Fender is designed the exposed metal clasp sits right on my shoulder bone and its bloody painful, even with just one bass.

Its a nice bag but i dont use it to carry my bass around in. The Ritter ones are much nicer and more comfortable IME.

I got a really good Rockbag a few years ago off Fleabay for about £15. Well padded with loads of pockets etc. You can unzip the front bag and use it separately as a mini rucksack if you want to. I don't know if they're still available but that is a great bag for a great price.

Have you thought about a soft case? Im gonna be ordering one of these for my new jazz:

Only a tenner more and seem to offer a lot more protection.

Ive just ordered the Gator version of this. I prefer a single shoulder strap to the rucksack type straps the SKB one has. Shame mine was dearer.

It should be here by the end of the week so ill get some pics up if anyone is interested.

That is the Rockbag Crosswalker. I've been using one of those for years. Well padded - its had about 50 different basses in it from cheapies to a 30th Anniversary Stingray.

I always carry the rucksack separately as its a bit of a handful when connected to the gig bag
