Toasted
100K for a guitar, and no picture of the instrument in question.
yorick
The guitarist in my band has one of these...... wonder if he's seen this???????? ker-ching.
john_the_bass
This bloke has had the ad on for ages. The LP Classic with the seller saying "please understand I will not take less than £2500 for this guitar" (yeah right) seems a snip by comparison. skankdelvar
My mate bought one about a year after they came out. Blinged out of existence. He got bored with it and lent it to me for a week or two. Piss-poor detailing, played like a slab of concrete strung up with spaghetti and sounded ... constipated? But it's a nice ad for Mr Gentle's shop, I suppose. Edited February 17, 2010 by skankdelvar
evilLordJuju
These are pretty nice guitars. I visited Kalamazoo, and spoke to people at the kalamazoo plant and elswhere - several of the luthiers there told me that they purchased them themselves - it seems amongst the people that made them they were pretty highly regarded. As I recall (although i'd have to check my records) the last guitar out of the Kalamazoo plant was his Les Paul 25/50.
RhysP
Blimey, I didn't know Tim Gentle was still in business.
bassaussie
That's a ridiculous price. Obviously he's adding a premium for the fact that it's NOS, but it's still a ridiculous price. Here's some 25/50 Les Pauls from dealers in the US. RhysP
I've got an old issue of "International Musician" from October 1980 & the dealer profile in that issue is none other than Tim Gentle. This guitar is actually mentioned in the article & it's also in the foreground of the photo that accompanies the article.
