peteb
Except he is isn't actually (hardly) slapping! More a feat of memory than particularly difficult if you are going to play Flea's part note for note.... Try and be funky with F#m7 and (almost) nothing else
Doddy
Weren't there two versions of this track? One with Flea, but I'm sure there's another version with Chris Chaney on bass. Neither of which are slapped.
Marvin
It's definitely Flea on my album version, must admit I wasn't aware of an alternative recording. But I don't get out much.
Sean
I play this with the Amy band regularly and it's a case of remembering a few of the essential fills and just improvising around what Flea does. There's an absolute banging live version of it here with the outstanding Taylor Hawkins drumming. The bassist has a great tone - no idea what he's using but it kills. I've have a real thing for Alanis - she is superhot in really weird grungy-scary-mary-stalker-knifing-you-in-your-sleep kinda way. TheRev
I have a transcription from an old copy of Bassist magazine -some of the fills are quite different from the Bassmasta tab. I can scan it and email it to you if you want it?
thepurpleblob
Thanks for everybody's help. Now I have had a bit more time to reflect it doesn't seem so bad. Just learn a few of the fills and mix them around. There's nothing there I can't play (hopefully).
