-------

I'm sure you have all seen this on various threads already, but have included pics below. This is pretty much brand spanking new. It is hardly 10 months old and I have had her from birth having picked the spec myself. This has never been gigged! Played only at home and 3 times in the studio. Stunning sound quality with the most thunderous low B you have ever heard (Just ask Chris at Overwater!!). Still with a stunning as new Overwater set up... To me this is the best example of an Overwater bass I have seen or played.

Spec...

Overwater Evolution 5 string Custom
Fretted 35" scale

Body: White Ash with Wenge top plate (with matching headstock, pick up covers AND 12th fret marker)
Neck: 3 piece Maple with a Maple board (side dots, but only the Wenge Marker on the 12th)
Hardware: Black - Hipshot style (with moveable saddles for string spacing)
Electronics: OW BMT 3 band preamp and OW5 pickups (wood covers)
Strings: OW Medium weight Nickels

After adding the options etc and with the cost of the sheer amount of Wenge on this bass it's final cost came in at just over £2300 plus change. Comes with Strap locks installed and a Hiscox Hardcase.
Its way out of my price range but that has got to be the most beautiful dark wood basses I've ever seen in my entire life!
I agree with that. And when it goes i will kick myself. But this may be the only way to own another custom instrument. I doubt I'll ever own another bass that looks this good though!

Well done.
Glad you have reconsidered, Never let go of really top notch one of a kind instruments as you will always regret it. I have an overwater perception classic 5 string which I thinks great, but yours looks absolutely stunning!

Enjoy your continued ownership!!

Whats the weight of this beauty?

I wish I had some scales to tell you! Its pretty weighty. I'd say 20% heavier than my GB Spitfire and the Warwick Thumb I had. Chris May at overwater made a comment that it was one of the heaviest he'd produced... I never noticed until i started playing standing more... Sitting you don't notice it.

And due to the heavy dense wood the low B is truly astounding!

Managed to weigh this just now (cheers for bringing the scales round Mark!).

It weighs just over 5.5kg, or around 12.2lbs... thats as accurate as I could be with the tools at hand.

I've played heavier, but certainly played lighter as well!!

Cheers, indeed it is!

Width of the neck at the nut is 45mm. String spacing at nut is 9mm (19mm at bridge, but is adjustable)
I'm dropping in to Bass Direct to try this bass out later today, already have a 4 string Overwater and was completely blown away
You will be mate, it is a beauty, and has the purest studio sound I've ever heard. I'm pretty confident any fellow basschatters that have already ha the pleasure of playing it will agree completely. It's just too heavy for my weak back when I have to stand and ply for 4 hours...
