I really like the look of the Ibanez SRX-305.

Just wondering if anyone owns one, or if you know if its worth the money.

thanks, Jez
Looks pretty meaty. Are you into heavy rock and/or metal?

looks very nice to me. As to it being worth the dosh------ Ibanez are rarely overpriced for what you get in fact normally the opposite is true. So if it fits and it plays nice for you, try it.

I've never played a bad Ibanez. I once owned (and wished I hadn't sold) the SRX700. Output from the pick-ups was massive and the sounds available very useful. If I could pick up a SRX705 at a reasonable price I'd snap it up straight away. The 305 is a seriously underrated bit of kit. Buy it, you won't be dissappointed.

I tried an SRX 390 (4 string) the other day and I was really impressed, very easy to play (especially being used to a "tree trunk" Warwick neck). Great value basses IMO.

Been looking at an Ibanez maybe as a back up bass. Tried a few at local shop. BTB (think it was a 555) was seriously good for the money and sounded great - Bartolinis and a 3 band eq with variable mid for under £400. Easily good enough to be my main bass let alone a back up.

Tried an ATK 5 string which was also nice but string spacing was a bit tight for me and the EQ not as versatile. Ergo was also excellent - more of a J vibe.

They just seem to have quality and value nailed.

I have a BTB 405 as a back up, and its a seriously good piece of kit, excellent spec for the money and very versatile. I wouldn't hesitate to gig with it

I own an SRX700 (and I'm not selling it!) and an EDB600, the Luthite one.

They're both excellent (for the money)

The EDB cost £80 secondhand.
The SRX was about £450.

The EDB has the better EQ, the SRX the better pick-ups. both play really well (with a bit of nifty setting-up from yours truly)

Good string choices;
