wanting a fuzz

Recently bought a Sansamp PBDI and with that Ive set up a clean channel, one with a bit of grit and a little volume boost, and another with full on crunch.. so thats worked out nicely for me but now im after a fuzz, i recently parted with a little big muff, wasnt too fond of that.. the nicest sounding one ive come across is the woolly mammoth, not sure its worth handing over £220 for one though.. anyone with a bit more pedal experience be able to suggest an alternative?

cheers guys

In short : Yes.

It's sometimes referred to as a cheap man's EDIT : fuzz factory (lol)

"Japanese manufacturer Zoom released a self-oscillating/feedback loop-derived fuzz design called the Ultra-Fuzz, which some have likened to be a 'poor-mans' Fuzz Factory"

cheers for all the replies, im gonna make every effort to check these pedals out. especially the tone bender, i heard some good things about that but when i looked into them i wasnt sure which model was which. im a justin chancellor fan and i heard he used the tonebender, but there was a bass specific model on there.. left me a little confused... Hi,

Yes the Fuzzy Feeling, it's the same pedal that I am thinking of offering as a kit. It works well with bass and there are few out there already being used as a bass fuzz.

if you turn the volume right down on a active bass, such as my musicman sub, and turn the high eq/treble down, it sounds pretty good.

but ye with the volume high and the treble turned up it sounds horrible, iv only really used it with my passive, but it can be used with an active in the right circumstances.
