keiper-resolute
Hi, id like to introduce myself to the forum, my first post. my name is dave and im the bass player in the Welsh Pink Floyd Tribute band, was hoping to find out more about my bass. Its a lovely guitar with a 24 fret neck and one piece body. Its heavy but sounds fantastic. I have yet to find another one like it anywhere on the internet. I paid £70 two years ago for it second hand. At first i was convinced it was a one off, but there must be more out there, maybe someone on here has the same.. id like to hear from anyone who does have one. Shockwave
I have seen the keiper name around, mostly its just a cheap chinese bass that are sold by the dozen to mostly online shops and the factory puts on the shops name or brand onto the bass headstock. JanSpeeltBas
Resolute is a series by Keiper - rather cheap budget guitars, basses and other instruments imported from China by Thomas Keiper, a german music teacher who runs the wayofmusic musicschools. The Keiper Instruments webpage is gone, it now leads to the site of his music school. Keiper models are also found under other brand names - they're not especially designed for Keiper but stock OEM products from large chinese factories like Cola and Aofa. geoffbyrne
I bought this Keiper off Ebay for, I think £62 as a project to defret, which it did, very successfully - the fretboard didn't even chip, which, I think, meant the wood had dried & shrunk a bit - it needed feeding. The routing at the back - control cavity - was poor, but once set up correctly it played well enough. The electrical components were really cheap. It was sold on as a starter fretless.
