What Jet did next

In an idle moment I clicked onto the Jet website, and aside from the JJB range having more colour options, they have a 5-string P bass in Charcoal and a 5-string 'deep blue' Jazz bass.

Just as an aside, what is peoples view of the treble side being the longer side of the pickup on that P bass? 

Seems most do it the opposite way with the B-E-A being the longer side of the split P.

The designers are clearly heretics and should be burned.

 

The website states that the pickups are custom-made by YHL (for both the P and J 5ers) but I haven't heard of them.

I'd assumed the thread was about the ex-Shadows bass player - as it happens "Jet" was also what my old Physics teacher nicknamed me, with my surname being Whittle. 

 

Just how many "boutique" Fender clones are out there?

Check out “patina” guitars, from same company as Jet. No basses yet, but nitro finishes, beautiful colours, look fantastic. I’ve asked for some basses around the same money. Circa £599. No affiliation!

Too many.

Definitely though this one was a Fender, seeing how they even made it in the same color with the same pickguard. 

Damn, talk about a lack of imagination!
