Jakester Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I have been successfully using the Boss WL20 wireless plugs for years. They're great. I have recently acquired a sexy new Jazz-style bass with the jack on the front. This means the Boss plug now sticks out perpendicular to the body. My other basses have side mount jacks. It functions perfectly well, but aesthetically it offends me. Has anyone come across a wireless transmitter pouch that will hold one of the smaller wireless transmitters like the Boss? For example, I don't know whether the Levys one will fit or whether the 'bug' will just fall out the bottom. Quote
Sean Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I think the Levy's one is meant to be used with a female to male extension lead. The bug plugs into the female jack and sits in that pouch then the lead plugs in as per usual. You just need to make sure the lead is the right length. Quote
Wombat Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Get a right angle connector and then it just sticks down again? 1 Quote

I just don’t know whether the pouch was too big for the bug. Quote

I've tried the solid connectors and they fall out quite easily. I was amazed. They also make the whole thing more cumbersome. For the majority of gigs I use the wireless just for soundcheck. However I'm going to get one of these Levy's pouches and make up a lead. The reason I bought the solid adaptors was to eliminate buzz rather than anything else. Quote
tauzero Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Get a long velcro cable tie and use it to hold the bug on your strap? Quote
PinkMohawk Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I use a Sennheiser XSW-D, which is a similar small bug style unit. The way I mount it, I made an extension cable that lets me mount the bug to my strap. In my case, the wireless has its own specific unit it clips into that gives it a belt clip, which with my strap works perfectly for retention. Depending on the size of the unit, I know Xvive have a holder for their own units that'd probably do the trick for you. 1 Quote
lemmywinks Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I nicked one of my daughter's hair bands, attached it to my strap (threaded it through one of the spare adjustment holes to secure it) and just hook my Lekato wireless bug over that. Have an extension cable obvs. 1 Quote
tony_m Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This was my solution... Lekato WS-50 bug + Levy's pouch with a hole punched through the bottom strappy bit + Designacable "Guitar Instrument Extension Lead" https://www.designacable.com/un-balanced-guitar-extension-lead-van-damme-xke-cable.html with a D'Addario Dual Lock combined cable tidy / strap lock to keep it neat. It's a bit chunky, but seems to work well (by which I mean the locking female socket hasn't dropped off yet!). 1 Quote
